Football fans from all over the world are in the USA and flying their countries flags so at first glance it seems reasonable that England should be allowed to.
But the English flag is now largely associated with far-right extremists and hooligans. It is a political symbol and no longer a national one. Given political symbols are banned from the world cup should the England flag also be banned?

In the Ashes, Australia plays against All England (which includes Wales) so the Barmy Army waving the Flag of England at the MCG is definitely OK by us no matter what that failed fuckwit Starmer thinks.
I think we have to insist upon it because our rivalry is with England - not Britain or UK. So a renaissance of the Flag of England is most welcome and appropriate on Australian Cricket grounds.

It is the Union Jack which is inappropriate because that is saying that England is the United Kingdom which it isn't and surely should be offensive to the other Kingdoms.

Too late. Dallas hosted England vs. Croatia a brief while ago and the English made quite an impression. Argentina and the Netherlands left a mark too... Japan mainly cleaned the stadium after... meticulously. But yeah England essentially took over a pub other side of downtown and filled it past fire code, so... No, they shouldn’t. English fans have the right to fly their flags just like anyone else. Also, I don’t think that the English flag itself is the problem but the fact that people are letting a particular party or ideology hijack it. Some people feel that the US flag is becoming a right wing symbol here in the US as well, but it’s not. The flag should be something that unites us all, we shouldn’t let national flags be turned into divisive symbols.
If possible, let it come out this way—hooliganism is enthusiasm expressed within its own arena. On the pitch, you let out everything you've been bottling up, like throwing up or passing gas. The proper place for chauvinism is national team matches. If you don't allow these people to express their far-right tendencies in a football stadium, they'll do it in everyday life instead, and that's when it becomes more dangerous.

Really what theh are doing is trying to break up what it means to be English through attacks on English identity, English ethnicity, English nationality, English language, English culture, English traditions and English religion.
