Most likely PR will become a state , DC will become a state , adding 4 Democrat Senators and 3 or 4 Democrats to the House. Are you for adding states? Will Republicans ever control the House or Senate again? With what Trump has done, do Republicans really deserve to have that much power ever again?

Dc would be an easy democratic state but Puerto Rico would be more of a toss up state. It's a bit of a tax haven for rich people. Ultimately the people should have representatives first and foremost.

If Puerto Rico would become a state they will have to step up and be more responsible compared to being a territory but more responsibility come more opportunities.

With DC its weird loophole with all the responsibility but no representatives. It would be good reason to basically dismantle DC and keep the three seats of power at dc but move the headquarters of every other federal agency to all corners of our nation. Good way to spread some of the most higher educational agents around. FBI, CIA and IRA shouldn't be neighbors in the first place.

Give everyday residents of DC state rights and representatives in Maryland or Virginia whatever makes more sense. It just so happens senate and house and president meet in these federal buildings but DC is in a real state with a governor and national guard and so on.

I think if china is such a global influence we should be more considerate of pacific Island territories. Give them more power and autonomy. Let's add a federal headquarters to bolster a new state is also a good idea all around.

I'll even go far to say break up the Pentagon. Metaphorically keep the same angle of a Pentagon with the 5 new military headquarters buildings spread across the nation. Keep the old Pentagon as a military museum that be badass and safer all around. What about communication it's called the internet. If the internet gets disconnected and we have 5 military headquarters qualify to protect where they can establish connection later on.

A rotating capital building across the nation would help rebuild trust in our federal government. A government of the people for the people by the people should gather together anywhere. Let's have 5 different national capitals sites that rotate.
