I never worried about it until i was homeless. I worried for about twenty minutes. Then i proceeded to work on a solution. By the third day i was working two full time jobs. One of which had a locker room with showers for employees. I was just a temp, but nobody cared when i snuck in for a shower now and then. I slept in my car in various parking lots and i mostly fasted. After about two and a half weeks, i spent every waking minute that i wasn’t working looking for an apartment. By the end of the third week i was putting my deposit down on a dump. But it got me off the street, as they say. I signed a six month lease and moved to a nicer complex as soon as that expired. I bought a nicer used car while living at that place; an SUV. While expecting that i would never again be homeless, i did figure on more comfort in the cargo space of that SUV than in the backseat of a Buick, if worse came to worst.
I have never really been homeless in that way since. Although, i move around a lot for work and i don’t really have a fixed address. One could argue that i am technically homeless now.

Been homeless. The fact is the majority of Americans live paycheck to paycheck and are just one paycheck or disaster from being homeless
