Already am just not living on the streets homeless there is a difference. I can't afford normal rent and on the waiting list for 3 years for social housing, just a small flat would solve everything as housing is my biggest stress in my life.

I don't think I'd ever be living on street homeless as I have a few who'd help me stay with them but it certainly wouldn't be ideal as it already isn't with my dad who lucky took me in after my shit mother kicked me out.

Thing that annoys me the most if my mother had kicked me out earlier when I was 15 or even 16 I bet you I'd have a flat as I know others who do because they were at such age. But she had to wait until I was 21 when nobody cares anymore.

If one can't handle having a kid who's maybe disabled and need more support in life and due to high rates of renting cost then don't have a kid.
If you only want a kid because you think they'll grow up to be an ideal child who'll perform successfully in life and easily move out affording a place... again don't have a kid.

Not everyone should be a parent but then they'll be poor and get pregnant by 16 and go yes this be a great life choice. Then that kid grows up struggling through life. It's really a wonder why right?

Nah, what I do need is the government to stop spending tons on immigrants giving them flats to hotels while born citizens get on a endless wait list and they talk about housing crisis as if they aren't the ones causing it.
It's not me who's to blame for society, it's government they run the show and it be a circus.

I wish I was to blame because then I could change things but I ain't.

Yes, I worry a lot about the housing issues in the UK. Not just for me but for everyone.
We need a serious national debate about if housing is a right that everyone should have access to or a privilege that people can profit from in which case we need to accept increasing levels of homelessness and alternative living (such as in cars and vans)

No, I'm financially secure.. but if I ever struggle to keep a roof over my head, I know my father and also my partner would help me out. They would make sure I have a roof over my head, have everything I need and that I'm healthy.

anything is possible... neve rsay never. but plan and hope for the best and be grateful if you have it better.

I engage with homeless for a reason because could happen to anyone.

reality is... its usually broken families and traumas haunting people.

Homeless people are ultimately people who gave up.

And I am incapable of giving up no matter how much shit is thrown at me

And I’ve already weathered a few storms that could have left someone homeless

Even if I ran out of options I will create the options

Anything other than just getting wasted and sleeping on a side walk

Not really. I was homeless for a couple of years in my 20s. Was the best thing that ever happened to me. It inspired me to get to work and stop being so lazy and was the inspiration for a fabulous career, early retirement and a very secure financial life now in my later years.

    Everyone should have that experience.

I've probably had at least 3 dozen jobs in my life. But in my early 30s I went back to college to get a finance degree and went into a financial career (first degree was in engineering). I ended my career working for someone else as a CFO. Great career if you are into really hard work with long hours and have a good mind for numbers. The sky is the limit on how much you can earn.

I think being homeless was about more than just career. It is training for adulthood and character building too. I think everyone goes through a stage where they just expect everything to be free after having parents that paid for it all for so many years. Some more than others.

And I think that is even more true now than when I was that age. These kids today have lived such a pampered life in America, even the poorest (poverty in America is defined as only owning one car and being stuck with last year's iPhone model) among us are spoiled. I've never heard so much whining and self-flagellation as the kids today. They expect something for nothing and think that money grows on trees. A bunch of lazy spoiled brats who don't have a clue what hardship means. They need some to wake up.

I don't even blame the kids. I blame the parents and the schools that teach them that socialism and communism is good and capitalism is bad. That is a society destroying message. Then, when a country actually does become socialist or communist, they end up eating pigeons from the park because they ran out of zoo animals to eat, and the stupid people who let that happen are wondering what went wrong.

We have a couple of generations of kids now who are clueless thanks to the leftist education they got in the corrupt school system. There is no economic system in the world that holds a candle to capitalism for creating the most prosperity and freedom for the most people. On the other hand socialism and communism have failed miserably every single place they have been tried throughout history. I don't want America to have to learn that the hard way.

Why would I worry about that? I'm not mentally retarded. I'm not an alcoholic. I'm not a drug addict. I'm not a criminal. I'm not uneducated. I'm not without skills that make me valuable in the economy. I don't sit around all day and play video games and watch Tik Tok. Those are the people who become homeless. How much homelessness was there in the 1950s? Maybe one guy in an entire city.

Not really in the place I live. You get free money if you can't work or are jobless for a while. There's a lot of safety nets installed that will prevent you from ever needing to be homeless.

Having something is surely better than nothing, but i don't think that your parents will let you live on the streets and you might get married and live in your family's house...
