Nope. You can legally terminate an employee for supporting terrorism in both the private and public sector. In the private sector it can be to protect corporate reputation, mitigate security threats, and prevent a hostile work environment. The Civil Rights Act and National Labor Act don’t protect extremist speech or praise of terrorism, especially when they incite violence or promote illicit groups threaten workplace safety. Even in the federal government it can be seen as disruption of government operations. As to jailing for such praise of a terrorist organization, there isn't grounds for that unless they are also knowingly providing material support to the terrorist organization. So if there were other factors involved regarding material support like financial donation to a charity and then the praise of the assignation carried out by a charity member is used as evidence of intent for the donation and knowledge of said organization then they could be jailed because they are knowingly providing material support. On it's own though it would just be free speech. There has to be a little more meat to the matter when it comes to putting someone in jail.

A lot of jobs have clauses where you can't bring the organisation into disruption with hate speech and the like.
If you an adult in a job teaching my kids and said
"I don’t condone violence of any kind, and I certainly don’t condone this, but he was a horrible person, a fascist full of hate for anyone who was different... While I’m sad we live in a country where gun violence is an epidemic, the world is a bit safer without him."
I would be less concerned that it would influence my kid and more concerned that she was that stupid to say it on social media and is responsible for my kid's education. She got $300,000 which is about 3 years salary and still has to pay legal costs, she may also have trouble finding a new teaching job.
Im against anyone having their pension taken away for any reason for the sole reason that the pension was paid for put of that person's earnings. Its there's, taking it is thievery.
I have no problem with people getting paid for their various political views, but people who celebrated Kirk’s assassination should not be rewarded for being scumbags. They also shouldn’t be political prisoners, obviously, but certainly it wouldn’t require an exhaustive investigation to find out that the kinds of people who celebrate murder have criminal histories for which they can and should be locked up.
Do you have any links to these people who received money? I call BS.
You cheer for the death of someone your employer can absolutely fire you ESPECIALLY if they deal with the public or teach our children.
I posted some links in the update
Thanks for the updates. I can see the guy who was jailed…. No one should be jailed for speech unless it was a threat for additional violence…
But people fired for cheering that someone was murdered shouldn’t get a dime and lose their jobs as teachers and professors.
The man that was jailed also got the felony charges dropped against him. I haven’t researched the story too much but I’m guessing simce the felony charges were dropped the police may have incorrectly charged or he didn’t break any laws.
It depends on the law. In my state we have no fault firing, where you don't have to give a reason and can fire someone without one. So, if the state doesn't have no fault firing, and the reason they were fired was in relation to Kirk, it's probably illegal.
I find it hard to believe that anyone got fired or jailed for bein g critical of Charlie Kirk. Thee must be more to it thsn that.
They were saying things like he was a hateful person, they don’t care he is dead and repeating the quote Charlie Kirk once said about the 2nd amendment. The man that was jailed got the felony charges dropped. I guess they incorrectly charged him.
Charlie Kirk once said something like the gun deaths are worth it to keep the second amendment.
These people were repeating Charlie Kirk’s own words.
There is no way anyone was jailed just for that.
No. I sad that people who advocated violence got rewarded.
These people were just saying things like they don’t care Charlie Kirk died.
I believe that doesn’t quite meet the criteria of advocating violence.
They were saying things like he was a hateful person, they don’t care he is dead and repeating the quote Charlie Kirk once said about the 2nd amendment.
I don’t believe that legally meets the criteria of advocating violence. None of them have been criminally prosecuted. The man that was jailed got the felony charges dropped against him.
Absolutely for what that racist fuck promotes. Only a truly retarded person would think otherwise.
Not sure what made him racist.
Not sure of what that story Is. Haven't followed it.
no. "critical" of Charlie Kirk? applauding and cheering that he got shot is not being "critical".
Yeahhhhhhhh. That's illegal
Why is it against the law to be critical
@kinks1951 that's how US is now a days
TRIPLE DAMAGES !!!
Absolutely they do.
Of course.
