I work for a cleaning company, and we started cleaning a new office building. We'll, they had a Halloween party in the break room. Their was an alter made of balloons. I wad told by one of the employees not to take it down. There were paper bats stuck to the walls with tape. My supervisor told me to remove them, so I started removing them, and as I was removing them, it ripped some paint off the wall. Also there was a streamer hanging from the ceiling and it was getting in our way so my supervisor told me to get a ladder and take it down. I was very careful with it, and once again, some paint came off. My supervisor called our boss and told her. I don't really know what was said.

certainly not, you can have them for unfair dismissal, you were just following orders. If you are worried about getting fired, I can't see that happening.

Nothing serious of what you did, to validate you getting fired. If they are talking between themselves, I don't think it was about you what so ever, they most probably talking the situation with bats.

I don't think they are going cry or sack you for a little paint coming off the walls, because you were just trying to do your job of removing stuff off the walls etc.

However, they could fire you for criminal damage, if the case is that you were violent and throwing things around in the office. That's whole new level.

wtf tape did they use? Gorilla tape? Those are petty gaping chunks. Or really shitty paint. Repair isn’t cheap, matching paint and all. Not saying it’s grounds for dismissal, but can see why it’d be concerning. Your supervisor is also responsible here, having directed your actions, and likely just telling them what happened. if asked, just be honest with yourself and others.
