I work for a commercial cleaning company and for the past 3 days I've called in sick. I have a sore throat. They don't know I have a sore throat. They just know I'm sick. I thought I'd be able to go back to work today but my throat is still sore so I told them I will probably come back next week. The thing is im pretty sure they don't have anyone to cover for me so I'm making it very difficult. But isn't that kind of their fault? I've been working for them 6 months and they couldn't find anyone that could cover for me? Anyways, for I deserve to be fired for calling out sick?

no because you dont know whats causing the sore throat, cold, virus, allergies, etc. so smarter to stay home so you dont get blamed for making others sick

No, if you went to work while sick, then you would deserve to be fired.
You made the correct choice, and yes, having no other emplyee to cover for you is on them.
Deserving or not, I'd have fired you if you didn't bring in a doctor's note
