Whats your opinion about Turkey blocking the LGBT cruise from docking?

Based on reports I have read the reason behind it was because they viewed the LGBT ship as not meeting their moral standards.

Turkey is a Muslim majority country so this doesn’t surprise me they view the ship that way.

It’s not illegal to be LGBT in Turkey

The reason Turkey didn’t want the cruise ship docking is because they said it doesn’t meet their moral standards.

There was over 1,000 LGBT people on board the cruise ship.

Unfortunately, things like that exist here. Not everyone in the country thinks the same way. There are a lot of gay people here. Sometimes I see them walking hand in hand. I haven't seen men walking hand in hand with each other, but girls do. There are posts made by gay people on social media. Maybe they have problems in smaller towns, but gay people don't have problems in big cities. They can stay in hotels. Gay men dress comfortably. Problems like the boat issue don't stem from the public. We don't all think the same way. I'm not gay, but I've had gay friends and they were good people.

On a surface level, I think it is regrettable that these people were denied an opportunity to enjoy a place they paid money and time to visit and have fun in. But I do not know what type of people were on that ship so I do not know if they were kind hearted people or trouble makers.

It seems bizarre to me the cruise ship didn't check on this before planning on docking there... but Turkey are allowed to decide who can enter their country and who can't

There are places in the world that will never welcome a certain flag of ideology.
Any one on that ship could travel to turkey dressed in plain clothes with no flags and night would happen

I think it's completely pointless, I don't agree with their lifestyle but stranding them on a boat I think is just wrong, I think one can have their believes and their opinions and even be passionate and proud of it but I dont think people should be forcing others to live a certain way, I think once you go from expressing your opinion to enforcing something onto them it quickly turns to a hateful movement.
