Trending & News To me, it's a platform where stupidity gets more attention than intelligence.
Agree or disagree? Why?

I think it rewards attention, not stupidity, and those aren’t the same thing.
TikTok’s algorithm is designed to maximize watch time and engagement. Content that is surprising, emotional, funny, outrageous, or easy to consume tends to spread faster than nuanced, thoughtful explanations. That can make it feel like stupidity is being rewarded, because simplistic or provocative takes often outperform complex ones.
That said, there are plenty of highly intelligent creators who have built huge audiences by making difficult topics accessible. Scientists, historians, doctors, engineers, economists, and educators have millions of followers because they present information in an engaging way rather than a dry lecture.
The platform does, however, create incentives for oversimplification. A 20-second hot take will usually get more views than a balanced five-minute explanation with caveats. That’s less about intelligence being punished and more about the format favoring speed and emotional impact.
In other words, TikTok rewards communication skills at least as much as knowledge. Someone who can explain quantum physics with humor may outperform someone who actually knows more but can’t hold an audience.
So I’d say I partly disagree with the statement. The platform doesn’t inherently reward stupidity, it rewards content that captures attention. Unfortunately, genuinely intelligent content isn’t always the most attention-grabbing, and genuinely stupid content often is. That’s a quirk of human psychology as much as it is of TikTok itself.
It’s designed to cater for the average Americans‘ attention span, from what I have heard… better stay away from it.
No government truly cares about its people; their sole purpose is to use them as slaves and exploit them. Do you really think Trump loves his own nation, or that other world leaders do? They are all just pawns in a web that has already tightened around us.
Intelligent people are considered dangerous, stupid ones are considered exploitable. Tiktok likes to exploit young girls who have emotional desire to show themselves and of course it rewards this free content with likes which don't cost a thing, this how social media works not just tiktok
I've never been on there, but that sounds true. If people want to watch the dumb videos, then can't blame tiktok for giving the people what they want, supply and demand and such lol
Yes, TikTok is a place for people with intellectual disabilities. Hu ha ha ha

I thought that when the US companies took over TikTok thy would change the content into more educational fare. President Trump should have just banned it.
Trump doesn't care about the well-being of the people. Trump is a cunning snake.
100%, the vast majority of social media does.
Dumb and lazy people are WAY easier to control and manipulate.
Yes, that's true.
I think all social media platforms do this
Fools like IShowSpeed get millions of views, a private jet and credit for introducing obscure countries to the World, while content creators who actually make informative documentaries get NOTHING
It is a clown show. I will not put the app on my phone.
As is almost all social media.
Yes true
