Trump has said there are a 1000 missles loaded and locked on Iran should something happen to him.

Now God forbid something like this happens do you think that is true? Do you think America responds violently to Iran? Or do you think it'll be like the death of a cult leader where everyone kind of just disperses?

Don't get me wrong. Trump is our president. I know there will be a response. But Trump is not beloved. And i do not think the office holds quiet the level of respect it used to. JD Vance would take over for the interim. What do you think they JD doctrine would be?

@msc545 Aaah, ignorant I see. Yes the Air Force it's larger bases back in safe areas. but we also had F. O. B. s (Forward Operating Bases) in Iraq alone we had the big nice base in Bagdad. but also had up to five FOBs around Iraq that we had to patrol of base and engage snippers, motor teams, rocket teams, IED dudes, ambushes on convoys. Two FOBs in Seria, 4 FOBs in Afghanistan, one in Oman the dealt with Houthi's. these FOBs were there for resupply and medical evac. serviced by C130s. We may had more, I don't know, because they would pop up as needed to support Army, Marines and SOF. WE still have some open in Africa. A friend of mine got a Bronze Star for removing a motor team at 1400m with is MK19. After the team was blowing the crap out of the FOB for a few weeks. I had 3 of my troops get PTSD from watching civilian contract truck drivers get pulled from their trucks and beheaded. but because it was under Obama, and Obama's orders were "only shoot when you're getting shot at" they where ordered to not engage. so yeah, Security Forces, though rare, does see combat.

I became a Combat Arms Instructor in '98. since I was one of 8 guys on base to train and qualify everyone on base for their deployments, I rarely got deployed. my deployments Tuzla Air Base Bosnia, Ali Al Salem kuwiat and Al Dhafra Air Base UAE. Al dhafra was the worst. not combat, we had to many troops to do the mission, so we had far to many Blue Falcons trying to fight for the few BS medals they were going to hand out. me and my squad just wanted out of there without an Article. One didn't make it. a Blue Falcon lied on his AF 3545A Incident form.

I don't think you are in any position to assess whether or not anybody is likely to be successful, and I don't think you have any idea what the Iranians are capable of. That's not to say I do, but so far they have done a pretty good job.

If someone were to do this to Trump (and I hope they don't, given the current climate), I don't think the US would seek vengeance at all. I'm sorry to say that I think a substantial number of people would feel some sense of relief along with horror that this happened, hopefully. No matter how much you dislike somebody, there is absolutely no excuse for wishing death on them, or illness of any kind, or even problems. People make things in their own lives that suit them, and sometimes it don't suit the rest of us. Let's try to be tolerant.

we have 12 B52s, 20 cruise missiles each = 240
we have two carrier groups deployed to the area. each carrier group with missile frigates, destroyers and aircraft can launch 400 missiles per carrier group. 2 groups x 400= 800.

800 + 240 = 1020 missiles.

this is not including any air force F15s, B2 stealth bombers, subs, army ground launchers or any other capability. so yes a 1000 missiles is very possible.

And this is firing all at once. when you count reloading. it doubles, triples or more.
