If the US constitution is outdated, why don’t we just amend it via Article V?

I keep hearing people say it’s out of date, it’s too old, it doesn’t reflect modern values. If that’s the case, why not start the process of amending the Constitution instead of just complaining about it.

Questions like that remind me Edward Snowden’s interview with Joe Rogan. He points out that, when called out for unlawful conduct, federal agencies changed the laws to make their bad behavior permissible, rather than amending their bad behavior to fall under the law.
Generally, the people running our government recognize that when it doesn’t apply to them. 😂😂😂 Particularly when it comes to amending the US Constitution. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights were written on values that don’t age. The amendments that followed better reflect our shifting values. Those values are typically upheld by shifting interpretations of the Constitution. This is how the re-examination of Roe v Wade resulted in an updated ruling that suggests abortion is not constitutionally protected, but should be regulated from state to state.
There are a couple of questions that must be answered before moving to amend the Constitution. Have our societal values really meaningfully shifted pervasively? What are the potential long term consequences of changing the Constitution to match temporary shifts?
More often than not, the answers to these questions do not warrant a new amendment, but a new interpretation of one or more old ones.
Furthermore, and more to the point, the majority of people who would suggest that the Constitution is outdated are most likely trying to make the laws suit their bad behavior, rather than trying to live within the law. Not unlike our corrupt government, but neither makes the other acceptable.

Because we are the Divided States Of America and Article V of the Constitution requires a 2/3rds super majority to pass any amendment to the Constitution.

Half of this country wants to go back to 1860 and a White male patriarchy. The other half wants to deal with corporate money in politics, the internet, AI, and immigration. And our Supreme Court is supremely corrupted. It's delusional to think we'll ever pass another amendment to the US Constitution.

We have. There are 17 amendments subsequent to the Bill of Rights. There is an active movement now for a constitutional convention.

it IS old. but they only meant that "one party communist election' should replace constitution. constitution has a senate repre. enting each. tate but they want to close the senate!
