What are your thoughts on people finally confirming what I was saying about Georgians?

I was called a "bitch". Physically threatened. Accused of being the problem, yet low behold.

A tourist posted a video on Instagram of Georgian vendors charging him 11 US for a cup of Pomegranate juice, and even Georgians could no longer deny or get defensive, though some did. Most comments said this is shameful behavior and if they're scamming tourists, the least the could do is smile. One French tourist remarked how he isn't surprised and liked Armenia better, and how very many tourists have left Georgia unsatisfied. Some other comments remarked about how Georgians usually get defensive at the slightest criticism of their country. Some did, but surprisingly many Georgians in the comments denounced this behavior and attitude, saying if Georgia is serious about developing tourism and joining the EU, they need to change their behavior.

Another story surfaced about a Georgian man punching a Russian WOMAN after he confronted her and tried to get into her hotel room. While some locals accused the Russian woman and her group of causing trouble, despite lack of evidence, and even defended the man's actions, foreigners denounced the man's actions as well as the judge who let him off with a slap on the wrist. Calling out Georgia for being a sexist misogynistic society, and women and foreigners having no protection in the country, and calling Georgians "hypocrites" for demanding respect, while not showing it themselves. With many once again stating, that Georgians can forget about joining the EU and many suggesting that tourists spend their money in other destinations.

Once again, I was right!

It will be interesting how Georgians will proceed from here, now that their "amazing hospitality" branding has been exposed as a lie and their true character has come to light.

This is not the first time this has happened to me, and the lesson here is, DON'T BE AFRAID TO SPEAK UP. Sometimes, all it takes is ONE person sharing their experience, for others to come forward.

I don’t know what you were saying about Georgians, but again, it’s hard to paint such a large group, in such a way. Not to detract from your experience, which obviously was not good—but you think this is a problem that permeates the whole country?
I’m sure most on here could not find Georgia on a map if their life depended on it—and have no clue what you’re even speaking about.

Surely you realize that generalizing an entire country over 2, 5, 100, 1000 stories is narrow minded.
You just want to be right. And hate Georgians for some reason.


But people are a lot more complex than the place they cane from.


Otherwise life would much simpler.
