Why do Georgians always claim they're Eastern Europeans?

Georgians are West Asians

I don't know. Maybe cause a lot of them are white, from the Caucasus (and people still use the term Caucasian to refer to whites and Europeans).

Also, I think most of them are Orthodox Christians like some of the other Eastern European countries. So even though they are West Asian it would make sense that they feel culturally closer to Europeans than to most other West Asians like Turks.

Most of them probably don't look Eastern European though.

What about Poland? Would you consider it Eastern European? I've heard some people name it as such and others argue that it's Central not Eastern European.

It's ambiguous. It's kind of both, but I personally consider it more Central.

t depends nowhere the border between Europe & Asia are drawn. Most Russians think of Moscow as part of Europe and definitely St. Petersburg. It's only on the steppe where Asia truly begins. Also since the period of Catherine and Peter, the aRussian cultural elite was heavily influenced by Europe. Most of the writers, Turgenev, Pasternak, Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, etc were all considered of European mind setand wrote using language and references that Westerner's would be familiar. Despite modish collaboration between Russia and China, Russians tend to have a very anti-Sino mindset- possibly the result of Mongols riding horses over the steppe from Ulan Bator towards European countries.

Georgians are Eastern Europeans. Because Georgians are white. They are white-skinned. Georgians do not have slanted eyes. They have big eyes like Europeans. Even the Laz/Megrels, who are related to Georgians, are mostly tall, blond and have colored eyes.

because Eurasia is a continent. Europe and Asia are part of it, and the lines that separate Europe and Asia are political constructs.
