@canamlusciouslad73 You can predict that if you want, but saying “they’ll win two-thirds of their races” doesn’t make it true.

The DSA is backing candidates in races all over the country, and some absolutely have won. I’m not denying that. That is precisely why I take the movement seriously.

But the race we are actually discussing produced the opposite result: Greg Stanton defeated the DSA-backed challenger decisively.

And frankly, I hope voters in the remaining races do exactly the same thing once they understand what the DSA’s national program actually proposes.

I don’t want to wait until socialists control enough offices to start paying attention to them. I would rather Americans read their program before casting their ballots.

So no, I’m not celebrating merely because “even the DSA can’t win them all.” I’m celebrating because in this race Democratic voters themselves rejected the DSA-backed alternative by a huge margin.

I hope it becomes a pattern, not an exception.
