yes it does seem that socialists are becoming more popular than ever before among the democrats , its a strange theory , when someone on the right comes into power the left seems to go further left as they get annoyed with the conservative in power and then the left becomes more popular

Anonymous I agree that democratic socialists appear to be gaining influence in certain parts of the Democratic Party, especially among younger and more progressive voters. But I’m not convinced that means far-left socialist Democrats are broadly becoming “more popular than ever.”

AOC leading one very early New Hampshire primary poll is noteworthy, but it is still one state, more than two years before the election, and she is essentially tied with Buttigieg.

Nationally, polling shows a much more mixed picture. Democratic-socialist politicians have a constituency inside the party, but most Democrats are not enthusiastic supporters of them, and a substantial portion of Democrats have said they want their party to move toward the center, not further left.

That’s why my concern is less that the entire Democratic Party has suddenly become socialist and more that a relatively organized socialist wing could gain disproportionate influence through primaries and candidate victories.

the other candidates are just so bad it makes AOC look good. The truth is, they are all awful candidates. I can imagine what a debate between AOC and JD Vance would be like.
