No. Barack Obama did not pretend to be Asian.

Obama has a mixed background: his father was from Kenya (a Black African background), and his mother was from Kansas with mostly European ancestry. He also spent part of his childhood in Indonesia after his mother remarried an Indonesian man, and he lived there from ages 6 to 10. Because of that, he learned about Indonesian culture and attended school there, but he has never claimed to be Asian by ethnicity

That has always bothered me as well.

And his grandparents are white too.

His middle name is Hussain and he never uses his middle name because it sounds like an Afghanistan name.

I love it when Trump talks about Obama because he usually adds his middle name.😂

Does that really matter?
We should focus less on skin color and more on the character of the person. Is he good or bad? Honest or a liar? These are just a few things we need to look at. Not skin color. Let’s not forget that Obama is a Democrat and as such can identify as a woman, a furry, a kitty cat, dolphin or anything else they want so identifying as a black man should be ok…. Right?

In North American, people are described by their expressive or defining differences, not by their primary and highly populated commonality traits. Since African Americans are the minority group in a White dominated America, the white skin tone is viewed as the common trait, and the black skin tone is viewed as the intended culturally expressive and verbally defining visual trait. It is an emblematic ethnic categorization methodology and not a value assessment methodology.

There are white people in the US calling themselves latino because they are Spanish. The thing is they think they're the same as someone who is 75% Aztec or some other indigenous group from central and south America. Spain is in Europe. It's like being German or Irish. It doesn't make you part of the indigenous races you see below the US border. There are lots of white people there. People just don't think realisticly.
