What are your thoughts of people with intellectual disabilities that seem normal?

No they're not a burden to society.

CRISPER technology is almost able to prevent a lot of these problems like down syndrome.

I've seen some of them get up to 6th grade reading level while a guy i know with dyslexia can't read plain text books.

He is always depressed when he sees the people who are considered "retarded" are able to read more books than him even though he has better comprehension.

He is very eloquent, but he can only listen to audio books.

Without the audio books he wouldn't sounding like a scholar. Its hard to tell he even has dyslexia he sounds so intelligent and his vocabulary is massive.

But he can only call me on the phone and he write only very basic text messages.

Okay, so my point is that they are still useful to you.

There is something called the "The curb-cut effect" this is the definition of the curb-cut effect according to google "is the phenomenon where features or structures designed to make the world accessible for people with disabilities end up providing a wide, unexpected benefit to the entire public" and it start back in California where they made those curb cuts for people who use wheel chairs.

At first it was intended to assist wheelchair users on the side walk, but it showed it proved to beneficial to deliver guys or women with strollers.

He helped it was only made for wheel chair user, but then it helped regular able body people with mobility. It helped saved time and money.

It's the samething with the retards. They benefit you and society. Helping them helps you in the long-term.

Or if we look at ivg or cloning where infertile couples use their skin cells to create an artificial sperms or egg, so the couple can have a biological child.

Now it indirectly benefits the homo or poly community because now a same sex couple or a poly couple can have children and it biological be related to two or five parents.

And back to dyslexia guy there's a lot of text to speech software out aimed to help them and I am sure you probably have listen to a book while doing your laundry or dishes.

So you need to take care of them because it will help you. They're useful to you. Everyone has their purpose in life.
