The Afghan government collapsed itself.
It was corrupt and lost its war when given everything.
It's sad.
I'd like to see change, but it proves some cultures have no interest in working for anything.
You should read the reports of rampant corruption and incompetence.
It was bad enough that in 2018 the US threatened to cut fundng.

@FrodoSkywalker007 USA should not had left Afganistan back then, Afganistan needed to face more elections, more government, meet more normal politicians in order to understand democraty.
I'm not saying the previous governament was what Afganistan need. Afganistan needed to finde a new pat, new people and exercise more the democratic feeling.

My country from east Europe, after 35 yares of freedome, still many don't understand democracy and still want a dictator, because thei are to lazi to lean and make corect reseach.
Same for Afganistan.

I agree.
The commanders told Biden it was a horrible idea and that with only 2,500 soldiers they could achieve their objectives.
He chose to leave and created a political disaster.
Truthfully, I blame the withdrawal on much of what happened later. I believe Russia would not have invaded Ukraine. His actions showed a lack of resolve, and our enemies became emboldened

But i give up to it. Russia will had invade Ukraine sooner or later.
The retreat just create a better opportunity for Putin, to make USA look weak.
Biden was naive to belive the afghans will stand for themself.

I remember him saying they had a modern army and would fight for themselves.
Yet, if you talk to any veterans of the war, you find out the Afghans were cowards with no allegiance. Only the Afghan commandos were trustworthy. The rest would sell their weapons on the black market.

It was sad.
I suppose the government would have become a massive drain.
The US ended its combat mission in 2014 and most of its troops left. It was clear to anyone following the war from 2015 on that the Afghan government was too weak. The Taliban were even able to contest cities by 2016, and that was unthinkable just a year or two before.
