It still lives on with Charles III being the King of many countries and it is so popular that some countries have joined the Commonwealth of Nations without ever having been a colony at any time. Hawaii, despite only briefly being a Crown possession, has the Union Jack on it's state flag to this day.

If only Boris Johnston had continued on as PM. He seemed to have the right stuff and helped us (Australia) to get the deal for nuclear powered submarines so we can teach the chinks a lesson should they get more uppity.
