Or can't responsibly choose who to have sex with and who? All three presume adult responsibility occurs at a particular age.

After that you can get drunk and randomly have sex with another drunk at the bar then in the morning responsibly cast your vote with a massive hangover whilst regretting the sex with your mind mostly centered on if you might have picked up an STD.

I think the voting age should be raised to 30 leaving the other thresholds as is because 1. hangovers get better 2. Most STDs are curable.

It takes till the next term to fix a bad vote so that is the worst of the three.

I joined the army at 16. In the uk when I was growing up you could at 16 join the army, leave school, get a job, get married, smoke, have sex, have kids etc but not drink until 18 and vote.

My point is moving a lot of these ages to 21 does nothing but retard young adults developed. I think people should be considered adults or young adults legally at 16 and responsible for their actions good or bad.

Drinking age should be lowered by a lot. Even if it was conditional under “parental supervision”. The voting age should be raised to 23 with an allowance for active duty military.

Thanks @strateguy632! I feel it would be so much better if kids learned their alcohol limits in the safety of their home while still living with their parents. Sending kids off to college to learn this is not a great idea.

I think voting before understanding anything outside of primary school is also dangerous. We at least need to swap the age requirements of those two things.

Voting age should be 3 years of real world work experience after your education. Basically some time to gain some actual knowledge and independent thought of your own without being a carbon copy of your school propeganda.

This was tried back in the 70s. There were a lot of fatal car accidents.

@strateguy632 Yes, in the 70s during the Viet nam era the argument was that if somebody was old enough go the VietNam and get killed that they should be old enough to buy beer.
