Why are men expected to tolerate disrespect from women that'd get another man punched in the face if he acted the same?

For the same reason women are expected to not punch children when they act disrespectful, and young men are expected to not munch elderly men when they are disrespectful. Except for extreme cases, punching someone significantly weaker than you is just kind of distasteful.

I don't know, I would say most of the Gen x and older would paint you as the bad guy for correcting an elder, and correcting children is even more unacceptable.
