There are plenty of examples both ways for both genders. Not all parents are worthy of loyalty, so that's a factor too. It is earned by doing your best to raise your children and setting them up to lead successful lives. Anyone of either gender who recognizes that and was raised to value that will surely return the loyalty. If any child feels their parents didn't love them or care about them, then they won't return the loyalty. I think it is infrequent for anyone of either gender not to be loyal to their parents when it was earned.

my experience saw a mix: all 4 combinations. sons loyal and disloyal. daughters loyal and disloyal. so both ruin the loyal claim.
