If they are over a certain age yes

If you spend your money right you shouldn't be and a certain point you should have a good job so yes

No. I have known some excellent people who had practically nothing. A few of them were some of the best people I have ever known, had wonderful lives and did great things.

One was an artist.

One was a great leader of our local Native American tribe who lived simply and spent his efforts raising the prestige of his non-federally recognized tribe and reviving their almost extinct cultural ways. He instituted an annual Native American Days weekend that was celebrated. by the town and brought together indigenous people together from Hawaii, Alaska and across the country.
At one ceremony, he generously invited me to join the tribal elder's meal and called me one of the elders because of my assistance in supporting his efforts.

Another was John D. Olmstead, distant cousin of of Frederick Law Olmsted, the legendary landscape architect who co-designed New York City's Central Park, Prospect Park in Brooklyn, and the U. S. Capitol Grounds, and is widely known as the father of landscape architecture in America.

John was instrumental in establishing the Jug Handle State Natural Reserve, creating the Independence Trail in Nevada City (the first wilderness trail in the U. S. explicitly designed for wheelchair access), and preserving thousands of acres that became the South Yuba River State Park.
His goal was to build a trail from the Mendocino coast west across California.
He was single minded in his efforts and expended all of his resources toward that goal.
His friends and family are still working to achieve his vision.
It was an honor to be his friend.

I don't judge a book by its cover and I'm not impressed by wealth or ostentation.

Only when they are lazy. Or don't work cleaning like i did. Any job that physicly able but that they refused.
