Should Greece demand the return of the Elgin Marbles from Britain?

I saw the Marbles when I was in London at the British Museum, and was disgusted that the British were so arrogant as to STEAL the Marbles from the Parthenon and put them on display in their museum. Recently watched a film on the subject.

Literally every piece of art displayed in the British Museum is stolen from other countries and their cultural heritage. They should be returned.
On another perspective, might we reconsider that the British might have a more secure system to preserve these arts we’re identifying as of other cultures today…?

@Marshast I'm going to Greece in September, and I would far more like to see the Marbles displayed on the Parthenon than in the British Museum

No. We acquired them perfectly legally ar the time with full permission of the Greek authorities.
