Women have to use makeup, filters, plastic surgery etc etc to not look like trolls. While men are just natural.

Sure, young women to about 23, can have naturally good looks without all that crap. But we are talking men vs women. That includes all ages in adulthood.

It clearly averages out that men look better for most of their life, while women shine for short few years and then are just meh at best for the rest of their lives, even with all that fakery they use.

There is a biological and evolutionary basis why this is true. Women are valued for their looks and men for their ability to provide and protect. That comes from millions of years of evolution which physically and mentally programmed women to be able to sexually attract men so there could be offspring and men to be able to provide for and protect the women and their offspring. It's about survival of the species and it is the reason we are here today.

Completely subjective but I'd say women or at least women usually put more effort into their appearance. Women work really hard on their appearance while men often do the bare minimum and sometimes not even. I actually have heard many times women complaining about them dressing up nice for a first date and the guy arriving in a stained tank top full of holes and some long baggy shorts also full of food stains and cheap sandals with disgusting looking toenails.

Mostly some guys who think that being attractive opens doors in society and are obsessed with trying to make themselves look better. They compare especially male celebrities to each other in attractiveness, and try to make themselves as similar to them as possible with gym and trying to define facial features. I don't know if you heard of Clavicular, but he’s a looksmaxing influencer. He became famous for being another douchebag that says or does controversial things lol.

I mean in theory it’s good to try to improve yourself but these guys are usually obsessed with looks and think that’s all that matters.

To be fair, the halo effect is real. The more attractive you are, the better people treat you and the more opportunities you generally have in life.

Obviously it's not the only looks that matter in life. But it does definitely give you an edge, both in romance and in overall life
