Who is generally more tolerant: religious believers or secular atheists?

I consider myself tolerant up to certain point. If someone blatantly insults me for not reading their bible or starts venting that I'm going to go to hell for not asking a deity for forgiveness, I'm going to fire back too.

This will never go anywhere but who would you say is more tolerant; a believer/religious person or a non-believer? In my experience, I think we secular, non-believers are more tolerant towards believers than vice-versa.

Religious people are guaranteed to be traumatized. Which is 75% of the world. Secular atheists have a chance of not being traumatized but most are.

All traumatized people inadvertently traumatize others whilst believing they are doing the good thing. The same way religion generates daddy issues in children, so do atheists find other countless mediums to transmit traumas through. All whilst believing they are helping, and genuinely trying their best.

At this point, we need to redefine religion with "cope". All religion is cope. Secular people cope with fashion, with diets, with gyms, with sports, and so on. All of it is religion if it is used to numb their traumas instead of facing the terrifying objective reality. ㅤ

But i guess there's not much of a difference among the two groups in how you define them. Many religions teach "do not be a prick". So why are they pricks? For the same reason secular people are pricks. Ignorance of how the psyche works. And nothing mainstream will ever teach how the psyche works because that would crumble all tyranny in the world and trauma based tyranny is what the ultra rich rely on.

It's not even close. In the US it's very common for believers to take illegal action against skeptical expression, or someone demanding that Christian messaging be removed from government institutions, particularly the public schools. Often the plaintiffs in such actions are granted anonymity to protect them from violence from their community. Billboards advertising atheist organizations are commonly vandalized, while atheists rarely vandalize churches or their messages.

religious believers oftentimes try to force their religious beliefs onto others and judge them for not following. its nonsensical to believe religious people are more tolerant.. they arent🤦🏻‍♀️

Same here. The only thing that really gets me is when some people abuse kids in the name of god/religion. As long as they don't harm others, it's ok by me.

It has more to do with the individual then the beliefs as a whole. Both sides have crappy people who use their beliefs to justify there hatred of others who have different beliefs.

Atheists are less tolerant than most muslims, of people who don't agree. In fact poll groups all religions as one. Just like intolerant dawkins.
