From what I've observed, here on GAG and on other forums, atheists tend to think that they are more intelligent and logical, but the reality is anything but that. Atheists make more unintelligent and inconsistent arguments than they realize.
They seem generally more confident in what they believe, but that's about where it ends. Beyond that, I see mostly personal attacks and a lot of false equivalences, false dichotomies, personal incredulity, and out-of-context and minimalistic thinking. Personally, I have to wonder how many of them can discern a reasonable argument from a Christian if presented to them.
Now, none of this means by necessity that atheists are stupid. It simply means that they present very forceful and flashy, but ultimately unsatisfying reasons.
And quite frankly, based on what I can remember from Catholic schools and what I see in the poll numbers, given the current condition of religious education (a huge part of which is liturgical), it's not hard to see why atheists believe themselves to be intellectually superior.
Honestly, despite being an atheist, I think that this is correct. I would not say that it is correct for all of us, but some of my acquaintances who are atheists as well are just as you say they are.
100% christians. Atheists are actually the dumbest people on this planet. They are great at memorization but have no critical thinking skills. Not true across the board but generally speaking ya this is how they are
As someone said, Christians are wiser. Although, atheists tend to think more logically and have better reasoning.
atheist are retards
they believe in fairy tales
they do not know how to think for themselves
Obviously knowing God is real is intelligent in itself.

Oh boy this is such a hard question to answer... it's not like scientists are well known for been mostly made of Non-Christians. Oh wait.
The vast and overwhelming majority of famous scientists (ex. Newton, Faraday, Planck) were either committed Christians or at least believed in God.
@Rachelspiks wow you've mention 2 out of the thousands that are not. And i can name famous ones that aren't like hawkings and tyson. And even enstien lost his faith as jew and chose to be agnostic but leaning on close to not thinking god exists due to science.
But i don't need to sit here and mention all the famous ones it's a pretty well known statistic that most scientists are not religious.
1. Erwin Schrodinger
2. Blaise Pascal
3. Ernst Haeckel
4. Francis Bacon
5. Francis Collins
6. Galileo Galilei
7. Gottfreid Leibniz
8. Gregor Mendel
9. Guglielmo Marconi
10. Johannes Kepler
11. Louis Pasteur
12. Michael Faraday
13. Robert Boyle
14. Werner Heisenberg
15. William T. Kelvin
16. Wernher von Braun
17. Arthur Compton, and... finally...
18. Charles Darwin, to his dying moments.
Would you like more?
A "well known statistic". Except, it isn't. The vast majority of REAL scientists (ex. not that idiot Bill Nye, the "science guy", or the popularisers who spend most of their time now just complaining about religion) are non-atheists.
Clearly you didn't get my point by doing the exact dumb thing. When i said "But i don't need to sit here and mention all the famous ones it's a pretty well known statistic that most scientists are not religious." you should of taken the hint that mentioning all of them would be a dumb pointless effort.
And no i am not gonna respond with 20 more that aren't just to have this pointless game. Most scientists are literally stats wise are not religious no matter how many famous people you bring up.
You refer to it as a "dumb, pointless effort" because clearly you aren't even interested in the truth, and so willingly admit here that you simply don't care. Well, at least you're honest about being a stubborn ignoramus.
Where are the alleged statistics that support your claim? By the way, Einstein may not have been a committed Jew, but he was a theist nonetheless, and admitted as much.
"Most scientists are literally stats wise are not religious no matter how many famous people you bring up."
PROVE IT! Don't just claim this, but present the evidence. Is that too hard for you?
You originally claimed that, " it's not like scientists are well known for been mostly made of Non-Christians. Oh wait."
Well, the well-known ones were indeed theists, and I pointed that out, listing three. Then you said, "Is that all?", so I listed 18 more. Now you're claiming that none of that matters anyway! Are you always this confused?
Okay go right to figure 2 on this, You wanted proof here you go exact proof that scientists are much less religious than the public nvm been directly Christians. journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/2378023116664353
Your original claim was that scientists in general are not known for being Christian. That was your original claim, wasn't it?
I had a quick look at the article you linked to, and it doesn't seem to back up what you believe here. The overall results were mixed, with no clear pattern emerging between a person's science background and their religiosity.
Example:
"Third, the results offer an important perspective on notions of societal and individual secularization. If scientists—as a key source of and likely to be proponents of cognitive rationality in society—are at the vanguard of secularization, then one would presumably expect low levels of religiosity among scientists and vast differences in religiosity between scientists and their respective national contexts. Yet, more than half of scientists in four of the regions examined identify as at least “slightly religious.” "
Actually, I do know how to read them, and the ones that are there don't show what you seem to believe they do. Apparently, you don't know how to interpret the conclusion, a direct quote of which I pasted here for you to see, but your selective blindness (and giant ego) will not allow you to admit to having been wrong about this.
In any case, the article is more about the perceived conflict between science and religion, and it's really quite funny that you don't even realise that, and have tried to use it to support your assertion that most scientists aren't religious. :)
@Rachelspiks There is literally a chart showing that the bar always goes under the normal public who ain't scientists for a good reason because there numbers for religious beliefs are lower than the public and scientists aren't know for been religious due to this. But alright, think what you want, You win.
"Just in case you don't know how to read charts. It clearly shows in Usa and Uk Under 30% scientists actually are religious.
Now it does show in india it's 59% but i think we all know why there."
Yes, in the U. S. and U. K., but GLOBALLY the results are not so clear cut, and many if not most scientists believe in some form of higher power. "I think we all know why there" - what does that even mean? Are you trying to imply that Indian scientists are more religious because, "as we know", India is a backward country?
"Backward" in what sense? In terms of their technological development? That certainly isn't the case. Look, just admit that you were wrong. It's not hard to do. I realise that right now you're embarrassed by what you wrote above, but it isn't too late to make up for it and say that although you once believed in something that just isn't true (i. e. that most scientists are atheists), you now stand corrected. :)
It would be the mature thing to do.
"There is literally a chart showing that the bar always goes under the normal public who ain't scientists..."
Except, there isn't. The religious attendance chart? In Taiwan, Hong Kong, India it's the opposite, and for Turkey it's even (at 33).
Did you mean the identification chart? Again, you're wrong. Hong Kong and Taiwan (both of which are certainly NOT "backward" in any sense) show the opposite.
average? most atheists lower their group average by far!
If we look at the royal society and national academy members, over 90% are either atheists or non religious. Just saying.
Both have smart and moronic people among them.
