A bit of both. People who have wealth in their twenties are usually born into it. At such a young age, you can’t have had the necessary work experience to generate wealth. You’re either working entry level jobs, attending college or just graduated. Even if you inherited the family business, that’s not a guarantee of wealth. You’ve also inherited its debts and a great deal of responsibility; more than most young people are taking on at that age.
I was working, dealing with still being a young idiot, and struggling because i wasn’t taught how to be successful beyond “show up and do your job”. It took a long time for me to figure out that there is more to it than work ethic alone. I got further than most on my natural gifts and work ethic. Eventually i walked into an IBEW hall and applied for their apprenticeship program. I highly recommend apprenticeship for anyone who is willing to earn their living and has little more than work ethic to build on. Furthermore, anyone who is willing to continue learning and develop more skill sets, they can make a very lucrative living for themselves. Especially if they are willing and able to exploit overtime opportunities.

I spend most of my money on school, so it is a good choice. I get by tho
