Firstly, it's pretty cut and dried. You are attempting to impersonate someone else, clearly this is not a mistake or misunderstanding. You actively did that. The only question is are you gaining an extra vote having also voted as yourself, so, voting twice, or merely voting once as someone else.
No matter the circumstance this would be an instance of a person trying to deprive another valid voter of their voice. Hit 'em hard!

The only exception I would think allowable would be law enforcement, with probable cause and a warrant from a judge, testing the security of the voting process with a process to block or undo the fake vote.

I would think that in that situation the relevant officials would be aware this was happening. You would hope. I did vote D all the way down the ballot and for Bernie Sanders and progressives above centrist Dems such as Schumer where possible. My House Rep. is Jasmine Crockett at this moment if you're familiar.

Boy, i'm bout as sharp as a bowling ball this AM... You're right of course, no one involved in the polling precinct could know, but people such as the DA in the pertinent jurisdiction at least. Keep from having any stupidity occur, which this country is certainly prone to at this point. D is how I voted, yes.
