If the system’s been screwing you over your whole life… why keep voting the exact way the media begs you to?

They’re not guiding you. They’re protecting their power. Look past the noise and ask why they’re so determined to keep you locked into the same patterns.

Many people remain lifelong Democrats simply because that’s how their family voted. I understand the pull of that continuity. I followed a similar path for years. My own record reflects an evolving approach rather than inherited loyalty:

• 2016: Bernie Sanders
• 2020: Jill Stein (Green Party)
• 2024: Trump

I did not cast that 2024 vote out of allegiance to any particular movement. I reached a point where the clearest signal available was institutional reaction. The individual or position that produces the strongest, most sustained meltdown among media outlets and those currently in power is the one most likely to threaten the existing arrangement. That has become my practical criterion.

When the established voices respond with disproportionate urgency, it is worth examining what they are actually trying to preserve. Continuity for its own sake is not a principle; it is simply inertia. Once you begin evaluating candidates and positions by the scale of resistance they generate rather than by party tradition, the decision-making process becomes clearer and less constrained by the expectations of others.
