This is an absolutely disgusting act by a supposed president of the country. Instead of doing anything to help elevate the United States or support the people living in America, it feels like he is only worsening the country and actively destroying its historic landmarks. The anger people are feeling right now is completely hitting a boiling point because of the constant chaos and damage he keeps inflicting on America.

To rip out and cut down historic trees that have stood as a beautiful symbol of diplomacy for over 100 years just to clear the way for a private golf course makeover is completely uncalled for. It shows a total lack of respect for our shared history and culture. While defenders try to argue that this is just routine maintenance or land management, it is incredibly frustrating to watch a leader prioritize a sports facility over preserving a century-old landmark that meant so much to the public and our international heritage.

What do y'all think about this? Is cutting down these historic trees for a golf project a completely unacceptable abuse of power, or do you view the situation differently?

I read about this earlier today. What a heartbreaking act of criminal vandalism. It really pisses me off.
What a hypocrite after accusing people of vandalizing the reflecting pool.
That is publicly owned federal land managed by the National Park Service. What gives Trump the right to turn it into an ugly fucking golf course on public land that was being used for picnicking, fishing, cycling and other recreational activities? If he does, it should be open for free to the public.
Trump is a barbaric cretin with no class or appreciation for history, culture or beauty.
He treats Washington DC and the rest of the country as his private kingdom.
First you asked: "Instead of" doing anything to support the people living in United States America - like tax policy for giant tax refund.
Also public golf facility is FEDERAL property so executive branch controls. This was benefit that tree branches don't interfere with golf. Simples.
I'd have to see this is really true. I don't like it...
it sounds like stuff used to make people irate to vote in November for someone else. if he's actually doing that, it's pure stupidity.
A typical Japanese cherry blossom tree lives for 30 to 40 years, though specific ornamental varieties like the Yoshino cherry can live 80 to 100 years with good care.
Good point older than age 40 should come down years ago.
@strateguy632 sometimes trees need cut down for public safety. Plus shouldn't be growing non native species
What is not clear in this tale is were the trees on land owned by the federal government or was it owned by a private company or did Trump own it.
I highly doubt that President Trump was building a golf course on the White House lawn.
Precisely asker hid "owned by the federal government
The courts are not allowing this destruction of America. They are a complicit and willing partner in it. The courts are thoroughly corrupt.
So you’re mad about routine maintenance and land management?
Everything he does is
Who said he’s gonna cut them down
They said he did already
What was he trying to cut them down for what was he trying to put in there?
You ask for what? Good. Asker hid it is on government golf course.
