Listening to some people on here proves to me its less about facts, and more about their hatred of Trump.

It seems they take any opportunity to complain, even if there is no justification for it 🤷‍♂️

Just saw a few posts complaining about new strikes (which I predicted) claiming it is Trump abandoning the economic pressure.

What? How does one come to that conclusion. It's not like the sanctions or blockade life every time there's a new round. Its clear it's a multi pronged approach. Economic pressure to destroy the economy. Strikes when they step out of line.

Seems a very obvious approach to me 🤷‍♂️. I imagine if a Democrat did it they'd be very happy.

Also, oil was at $88 last time I checked, and these people are acting like it's the worst oil crisis in history.

Trump switched to "economic pressure" because America's munitions supply has been badly depleted, which even other top generals confirmed but Trump tried to deny, not because he thought economic pressure was a brilliant idea, but because it seemed like the only best option in place of depleted weapons supply. Why was it depleted? Because Trump's failure to bomb Iran into oblivion did nothing. Then the Pentagon pretty much showed that it was true because they then started pressuring contract companies to develop weapons faster, which can't be done because the types of missiles America has largely used (and given to Ukraine) take literal years to develop and deploy.

Biden was not a great prez, but regardless of what he's done, Trump has not been a good one either. Far worse. The very people who supported and voted for him have been hurt by it: illegal Latinos getting deported, IRS and other gov workers getting laid off by Musk's DOGE agency, and the poor ignorant south not getting what they voted for but more struggling instead, especially the farmers, and many of these people are experiencing regret for voting Trump back in.

Trump has created more destruction at home, global unrest (Iran war and constantly vowing tariffs), increasing economic difficulty, and allowing the tech companies to run wild with data centers that are hurting the environment. Under him in both terms, America has also seen the longest government shutdowns ever.

Every time this guy gets in power he does nothing but tell lies and do all the wrong things, meanwhile he somehow gets richer while the people who support him get poorer.

There are still weapons to be used, but they have largely been depleted. The only reason Trump has decided on these recent strikes is because there are some to spare and he wants to look like he's not just using economic pressure. Pretty soon the strikes will stop again.

There are many cases of regimes collapsing due to financial crisis. The Soviet Union being a significant case.
In regards to air campaigns, there are many cases of them weakening a regime, causing a civil war, or rebellion. Yemen, Syria, and Libya being prime examples as of recent.

The Soviets isolated themselves economically and, to a large degree, technologically. Nuclear competition and manning a disputed border with China contributed to military costs. But largely it was a Soviet own-goal: they didn't want to open their economy to trade with the West because to do so meaningfully would have meant changing their domestic control.

Sanctions played no substantial role.

I sometimes follow Iranian diaspora, because they tend to be more in that know with those issues. Legacy media could care less.

I think the confusion here is this.
When I say "economic collapse" and connect it to regime change. I believe you assume I mean US sanctions and blockades alone will cause a magical collapse.

It sets the conditions. Usually, the collapse is caused internally. Regimes lose support from civlians and military. Perhaps a civil war starts. Perhaps its a military coup (which has essentially happened).
Trump is correct that the current regime is not the same. By all accounts, Vehidi is in charge, and even limited access to the Supreme leader (which created controversy).
This is how desperate the situation became.
The IRGC needed to step on, assert authority, and they even had to contract foreign militias to operate in the streets due to manpower issues.
Even liberal media acknowledges this, usually claiming its become more extremist (true).

With further cut of resources (85% of all Iranian exports are oil), they lack funding for that manpower.
The IRGC are often considered extremist, and have historically take most of the fundng from other elements (like the Artesh).

What this does is
1. Further infuriate a populace that demands regime change.
2. Cut resources from supporters (many of them IRGC connected)
3. Create defections in other aspects of the Military (which were reported early on)
4. You already have militant forces attacking checkpoints (such as the Immortal Guard).

It's a recipe for disaster for the regime
It's why they targeted gulf state neighbors and oil tankers to disrupt trade 🤷‍♂️
The depressing part is the liberal desire to see Trump fail (when have you ever seen positive reports on him frm them over the past decade).
CNN was even caught pushing IRGC propaganda early in the war, releasing reports of what Iranian state media reported (as their own), which is state owned, and even have IRGC. Affiliates. 🤷‍♂️

CNN reported the US agreed to all demands, including removing all US troops from the Middle East.
This was of course false, and reported internally to contain dissent.
Instead, we had an MOU that US and Iran couldn't even agree on (which was bad press for both sides, and a stupid PR stunt for Trump that was obviously going to backfire, he's an idiot at times).

This is a common trend in liberal media. I've learned to ignore it and largely follow internal reports, war channels, etc. They tend to be more accurate.
