Trump has made it abundantly clear he intends to invade his neighbours. But when this happens, and assuming their militaries fail, are the citizens likely to rebel against the evil oppressors or just admit defeat? Where is the USA most likely to meet public resistance?

Would the citizens of Canada, Greenland, and central America rebel against an American invasion?
If ever the US really invaded those countries, they will have most probably big problems with Canada (remember Napoleon in Russia for instance). Mind that setting up such an idiotic operation would in any case need a lot of preparations, lasting years most likely, and let's hope in two years the presidential election will change everything. Even M. Trump does not live eternally.
I fear M. Trump is somewhat loosing his mind, because not only the implicated countries will reply, but also many other countries, if not whole Europe and South America. No country anywhere wants to be invaded and dominated by the US military or any other country. Think about the mere plain language problems.
Interesting would be to know the point of view of US citizens... Isn't the danger not a new world war? And this time not M. Putin's or Iran's fault, set aside M. Trump may have taken inspiration on the Russian president's initiatives.
Let's hope the American president is only bragging, but with that guy, no one ever knows for sure :0(

Frankly, we've so screwed up USA, we don't have a right to take those other lands. What's driving this is we are in the fading death throws of a mountain of debt caused by utter stupidity trying to hold the world together and push people around, and buy expensive toilets... lets not forget bailing out our buddies when they go broke making stupid decisions... ahemm... 1998 options traders.
So we fd up, just like all the prior govts did, and now we're doing a resource and land grab to water down the problem, like the others. It probably doesn't go well.
China is in a better position to take over. Ya may not like the reality of that as they are very controlling... won't be able to bad mouth on the internet and joke around like ya do without "disappearing". But they use their brains, we appear to be thinking with something further south.

Greenland would need evacuation because US isn't capable to deliver food and oil in winter there. Lack of specialized ships which can travel safety through pack ice waters. Canadians would very likely be very successful in sabotage of oil and transport infrastructure, EU and China would very like support resistance movement to harass and eliminating occupation forces with guerilla warfare. Cuba is probably the easiest target for US because there is a lot of people who would enjoy a regime change in this hellhole. However I’m not sure if this would get that easily since after 80 years of communism there is an army of people who hate US.
I say as an American citizen that if the USA invaded those places by force, then yes, those countries should rebel in any way possible.
On the other hand, if the USA purchases those lands legally from existing governments, then the people should just go with what their government does for them.
I'm not a fan of conquering Greenland. There's mostly nothing there except glacial ice and a few tons of gold and rubies, neither of which is of enough real value to justify purchasing nor conquering the land.
I am a fan of reprisal in warfare against out-of-control rogue nations, such as the middle eastern muslim nations who constantly fund terrorist attacks. By reprisal, I mean we should invade them, occupy them, and charge them a 10% flat tax on all goods and services UNTIL they pay for the cost of the wars. That's a different subject though.
I am in no means interested in invading Greenland, Central America, nor Canada.

Invading Canada would be a huge mistake. Its a vast land mass the USA could never secure. Canadians know how to survive in the outdoors and how to hunt The insurrection would make Iraq/Afghanistan/Vietnam/Iran look like a picnics. Plus Canadian freedom fighters could easily bring the war to main-street USA. Do not mistake politeness for weakness Donald. Having Canada as friendly partner is a better strategy.
Canada is currently being invaded by millions of people such as people from India. They aren’t doing anything about it, so no. Just give them Poutine and circuses in the form of a new hockey championship in new stadiums.
Central America is invading the US so they would welcome direct citizenship and we would gain a whole new set of beaches and beach towns to develop. We could use these countries to form a land bridge to our new Venezuelan acquisition.
Greenland only has 56,000 people. We had 80,000 at the FIFA World Cup Final in NJ. Just our Army National Guard has 328,000 troops. The Danes only fought the Nazi’s for 30 minutes and surrendered, fact, so no help there. GB can’t get there as their ships don’t work. France will make big speeches but that’s about it.
Trump may be serious about this, but most nobody else is. My guess is if he actually wants someone to invade any of those countries, he's going to do it by his fat assed self.

He is not going to invade them. He is going to make them a deal that most people will like. All you have ot do is ask Puerto Rico if they like being an American territory.

It really is a position of strength because the US is the most lucrative market in the world. Canada will lose billions of dollars a year if Carney does not come back to the table. China is losing its balls with these tariffs. Meanwhile America is becoming a manufacturing powerhouse which will further strengthen the US's position.
