in 2020 russia SEEMED like a major military power. russian military had 2000 active tanks!

also thousands more on paper claiming 12 000 tanks! of course it counted the old 1950s t60 and 1940s t50. but 2000 active seemed major.

its air force had hundreds of modern fighter jets. fast with modern missiles. it seemed to rank third in top five armies! of all world. it should have kept its status! instead:

it invaded ukraine with expert troops and tanks and air force! we all focused on keev the capital. rows of tanks neared but the defenders were STRONG stalling the capture of the airport.

ukraine showed lt was STRONGER than russias best by blocking attacks of elite troops in air *feeld. stronger than russia: to hold keev. it seems to me russia lost its status. reality showed ukraine was third- by blocking this strong army and its elites!

ukraine got help from nato' defense: modern anti tank mlssiles decimated the vast numbers of modern t90 and updated t72 tanks. ukraine shot down almost all russian warplanes and attack- helicopters to the point russia stopped risking them. this showed the weakness of russia. powerless air force that can't risk crossing the border! numbers were like zero because powerless.

all focus was on keev that was stronger than russian best elite units and many tanks.

russia withdrew from north ukraine and in 2023 lost more than 100 square MILES recaptured in east ukraine. russia did not block attack in contrast to keev. weaker.

russia lost many of its active tanks. total 4400 tanks visualy confirmed lost. probably between this and claim 12000 maybe lost 9000?

now russia lost: 300 sq. miles! hundreds. its big numbers of jets and tanks are like zero?

ukraine seems to be third? russia maybe ranks 20th?

Do you respect russia's army anymore?

Russia will nuke Ukraine before it loses a war to them. Putin CANNOT lose.
The Russian army isn’t as big and bad as we were always lead to believe.
The claims of Russia’s strength caused the U. S. to keep building more and more weapons. The military industrial complex loved that. So Russia would lie and the U. S. wouldn’t fact check it just build more weapons. That’s one thing with this Iran war that many don’t know…. We are shooting a lot of old munitions that in a few years would need to be scrapped anyway. Many of the tomahawk missiles used were old tomahawks useable only because of life extension programs.

Russia is not a week army. The US spent 350 Billion dollars in Ukraine while Biden wsa in office and now NATO countries are contributing about the same. Russia has been keeping this war going for 5 years now and Putin still has not shown he wants to stop.
