In the strictest sense, men and women have the same rights. Leniency for women under the law is a privilege. It’s not guaranteed by the Constitution or the Bill of Rights and can be taken away quite easily.
Same goes for women’s issues receiving meaningful attention while men’s issues are all but ignored.
That’s privilege, and it’s societal, not institutional.
That’s how most of the observable differences between men and women are; matters of freedoms and privileges as opposed to rights.
It gets a bit muddy in some issues, like abortion.
Let’s use some current examples. Blaise Taylor was charged with double murder for poisoning his pregnant girlfriend. Not one feminist protested the prosecution to insist that the unborn child isn’t a human with rights to be protected under the law. Nobody is arguing “It’s just a clump of cells!”. He’s going down for double murder and not one liberal is opposed to it. This has actually happened thousands of times all throughout the US, in every single state. The federal government passed the Protection of Unborn Children Act decades ago to zero opposition. Meanwhile, leftists insist that women should be able to kill unborn babies for any reason or no reason at all and face no legal consequences. This double standard is a blatant violation of the Constitution. But it’s based upon interpretation of the Constitution, which does not explicitly permit women to kill unborn babies. That’s one of the reasons that they’re hiding behind “abortions are healthcare”. As long as some states continue to allow women to kill unborn babies while sending men to prison for doing the same, it’s not a stretch to argue that women have more “rights”. It’s just not strictly accurate.
There are a lot of privileges that women get for free that men have to sacrifice to receive. It all starts with selective service registration, or the draft. Men have to register as soon as they turn eighteen. If they don’t the list of things they are not eligible for includes but is not limited to: state IDs or drivers licenses, the vote, receive government tuition assistance, housing assistance, food assistance, or any other government benefits. Women are eligible for all of these things and more just for the asking. Furthermore, if a man fails to register and applies for such benefits, he can be fined $250,000 and spend five years in prison. It’s easy to forget that these are not “rights”, but privileges. They CAN be taken away at any time and for any reason or no reason at all. As far as i’m concerned, they should be.
Western women have more freedoms and privileges than their male counterparts, but not technically more rights.
Nothing is guaranteed by the constitution, this is a distinction without a difference. You're basically arguing that since the bias isn't acknowledged in writing it therefore doesn't exist.
That’s not at all what i said. And the Constitution 100% guarantees specific limitations of government and freedoms to citizens.
You need to work on your reading and comprehension skills.
It is, just don't like the implications of what you yourself said. The government is constantly trampling your constitutional rights, how naive are you? You're in your 50s
You're confusing rights and consequences. Again.
No... you're being disingenious as usual. Harsher punishment for the same crimes is injustice, not "consequences"
Still a consequence.
And regardless of injustice, having a harsher or lesser punishment isn't a difference of rights. We dont get more rights because a judge decides to give us less prison time or better child support conditions.
So again, you're confusing shit again.
It literally is, are you stupid?
So what right am I gaining?
Also funny how you dont argue with Chaz who said the same thing. We have the same rights.
How is a less harsh prison sentence and a higher likliehood to not be convicted of a crime not a right?
Just did
Because that's a privilege. The judge and jury doesn't have to do it. So yet again, you're confused what rights are.
So, again, name one right we get. Or name one right you lose.
Yeah a day after he posted and 5 hours after you started with me and only after I pointed it out.
The judge and jury also don't have to abide by the rule of law and evidence.
That's why innocent people are convicted every day. Yoursemantics are quite frankly pathetic
They kinda do, legally.
You can't name a single one. Your pride won't allow you to admit fault, so you just try to attack me. Nice try.
They kinda don't. As I said, innocents are convicted every day. The fact that the Lindsay Clancy case is still ongoing whereas a similar case happened with a man and within 2 hours he was sentenced to death is proof of this.
Until you can name a single right we gain or one you lose, your words have no meaning.
That's not how that works, the biased rulings are just that. Idc that the system doesn't acknowledge it's bias, that's irrelevant
Do i have to treat you like you're a retarded 5th grader and explain what a right is? We both know you're not stupid, so stop acting like it.
You're the retard, same crime, one walks free, other gets death penalty, but that's not a right? Lmfao
Correct, that's not a right, as I've explained to you several times. Where in the bill of rights or constitution or its amendments, have you lost that women have still?
I misjudged you, I thought you were smart enough to remember 5th grade social studies. The bare basics.
You're getting increasingly hard to underestimate.
No, it absolutely is a right. A right is what's true in practice, not what's written on a piece of paper but isn't upheld you retard 🤦♂️
Answer the question.
No, you answer mine. Is a right what's true in practice or what's written on a piece of paper and not abided by?
I'm waiting.
Go back to Reddit, hun
Still waiting
You're not in charge. I don't care about your dumb semantics. What is true in practice? I'll wait.
I asked you first. Want an answer? Then answer my question. I've been waiting, and been patient with you. Hurry up
I don't answer stupid questions
Thats because you can't. Because im correct, and your ignorance and pride won't let you acknowledge it.
So again, im waiting.
Answer my question then
Agape logic:
Government: *forces agape to work on a plantation, she can't leave*
Agape: I'm not a slave, this piece of paper says I'm not, it says slavery is illegal.
I asked first, so until you answer mine, you get no answer. I'm waiting.
*logic
Waiting. Been patient
Good for you
Still waiting buddy. I can do this all day.
It's a powertrip for you but you have none lmao
You can't even answer a question over shit in 5th grade.
I did before but you think it's a right cause it's written in paper, even if not enforced.
Reading comprehension isn't your thing. This was never about enforcement. This was about your premise that women have more rights than men. I told you to find a single right we have that you dont. Repeatedly.
You call the law not being enforced equally a "privilege" rather than a right you absolute retard 🤦♂️ Same crime, one walks free, the other is executed. Somehow not a right but a privilege. You're a joke lol
The law is enforced, just unequally, which is a privilege. So again, list one single right in the constitution or bill of rights that women have, that you do not.
Buddy, if the law isn't enforced equally then different people literally have a separate set of laws that apply to them 🤦♂️
Focus. Stop drifting off to different topics. This is about rights, not equality, not judge or juror preferences.
Is this how you try to hide your incompetence. I answered your question a long time ago, now answer mine
You haven't answered. I'm waiting.
I did, stop being a coward now
