Generally not in the UK, people will tend to only refer to themselves that way if that culture is still a big part of their identity. I've never heard of people using multiple identiies. They usually just say British-Asian or black-British.
Welsh-Italian crops up a bit but oddly English-Italian doesn't. There's been quite a few Eastern Europeans settle in the UK but I've never heard british-polish. And absolutely no one admits to having American ancestry.
There's a wonderful old photo of a little girl proudly forcefully assimilating 4 Asian girls into our culture whether they like it or not. The face of one screams this shames my ancestors. Probably all dead now but their kids won't be coming up with any of that "Oh I'm Chinese-Eskimo-Mexican-aboriginal-welsh" crap
