Corporations are making record profits while everyone else suffers. They don;t give raises that allow workers to stay ahead of inflation. Most no longer offer Healthcare to employees. They receive Gov't welfare with grants and tax breaks. Many violate environmental laws and pollute water. Most don;t offer retirement pensions. Many Corporations are US companies that get make products in other countries and don;t even hire Americans.

Because if cut a company’s earnings down to a quarter, it will “rightsize” itself to match its earnings.
That means firing 3/4 of the employees
Cutting ties with a lot of other companies on the supply chain, causing them to fire people too.


Eventually increasing the unemployment numbers and needing even more money to keep them fed.

raising corporate tax rates is the best way to kill the economy and chase businesses out of America. 21% is an appropriate rate to expand businesses. However there are many loopholes that big businesses have lobbied for that should be repealed.

You can only lower wages to a certain point and then you're in the realm of doing it illegally. Like American agricultural firms are accustomed to doing to to illegal immigrants or you've impaired the operations of the corporation to the extent that the stock price tends to go way down, which of course makes the executives very unhappy.
