I've always invested at least 15% of my pretax income since i was 25. I never dreamed i'd have enough to retire this early. And though i want to, i don't want to make a blunder in the 11th hour. The so called experts say i should wait till 59 1/2 to retire. But those experts also look at retirment more as an age than a number though. So i don't feel like i get relevant advise in this area. What would you do in my position?

I will not be satisfied with my life unless I am actively doing things, so if I do retire, I will need to do an unpaid activity that requires energy and time and intelligence. My cousin thinks my other cousin got married and had children because she wanted something to do and her family was in another country, so she got pregnant out of boredom, thinking the kids would give her a purpose in life.
I just retired at the end of July. I have a good pension but absolutely no savings.
If you have savings and a decent pension I say go for it, retire if you want.
I've just got enough to get by. There will be no extras. Retiring is likely the biggest mistake I've ever made. I just couldn't continue dealing with my asshole co-workers.
I am only working part time but could retire. The thing that scares me is if democrats come back inflation will go nuts again and the stock market will tank.
your health insuranse is arranged by job. if you retire how will you have health insurance?
Go to the ACA marketplace. That's the point. Healthcare subsidies are a big factor.
I could do that, but no...
I want to have stuff to do
Hell no. Seems like a great way to be bored.
Have $5 million if you can before retirement unless you have pensions to help make up the difference at retirement age.
I retired at 30 once I had a good nest egg
nice job
For sure
