My only real gripe with him is Iran and how much of a waste of time trying to make peace with them is. Gas is not as high as Biden's time but it is still really bad, and that looks really bad for him. It is weird too because we are supposedly getting oil from Venezuela and Argentina now but for some reason the oil industry is pretending the gay of hormuz is the only way we get oil.

From what I understand, the base gas price is based on a lot of predictions of the future and every increase is telling us that they think they will be in shorter supply than they thought, but I have no idea where they are getting that idea from.

Trump apparently launched an investigation on these price hikes but that was in late June and I have not found any actual progress on it so far.

I'm not disputing that, I'm pointing out two gas price factors: it was back under $4 in two months, by mid-August, and it was due to a pandemic, not a war of choice.

Also, Diesel peaked at $5.78 in 2022, it's now $6.53.

The fossil fuel companies are taking the piss. About half the price of fuel at the pump is the price of the crude oil (which hasn't quite doubled since February), refining and marketing costs haven't really changed, and I'm not sure if the tax is a percentage or a fixed amount.

I wonder if Trump will bribe them to lower prices until November.

That being said, the man has been ordering the military to murder people in the Caribbean Sea and the military, or at least the Navy and probably the Air Force have been going along with it. Well, I wouldn't discount what you're saying because you certainly know more about Texas than I do. And after all I am here in California and perhaps my views have been influenced very heavily by those of my friends and neighbors here. That being said, you are correct. I absolutely dislike Trump's behavior which is different than disliking him as a person since I don't actually know him personally. Thank God. On the other hand, he has talked about declaring martial law or the insurrection act or whatever it is if things don't go his way and I think other people to some extent have been encouraging him to do this. I hope people would stop him and I hope you are correct about this but I think it may be very difficult to stop him from doing anything. I have to believe for instance that he was discouraged from attacking, Iran and look what he did and look what has happened. As a result. I cannot believe for a moment that the professional military men who should have been advising him and probably were told him this was going to be okay. All they would have to do really is look at a map of the strait of hormuz to quickly figure out as military professionals that this was a very bad idea and tell him that. Of course I could say that about anybody, but I haven't. I don't. I only say it about people who have signs and symptoms consistent with that statement. Most people do not, but he does. His behavior during these two terms and his involvement with January 6th have suggested to me that his judgment and insight are severely impaired, to the point where he could do anything and not have any regrets or concerns about it at all. I don't think he has a functioning conscience, and I have real questions about his cognitive capacity at this point. Also, perhaps more to the point, he has not really had a reason to do what I'm suggesting before this. He now has a reason because the midterm elections are not going to go well for him unless he intervenes in the electoral process in some specific way to change the probable outcome. Intimidating people or preventing people from voting is a good way to do that, and perhaps the only way.
