The 1948 war started by the Arabs explicitly to exterminate them.
For decades many Muslim nations attempted. It, until eventually, most of those nations made a peace (but on the other hand support its destruction).
If you didn't know, palestine was originally Egyptian territory, who have so far closed off its border to their refugees.
If you didn't know, they were offered a two state solution by Israel during the Oslo accords, which they responded to with the intifada.
