Back when the "Mandatory Palestine" was coming to an end, there originally was a proposal for one state for Jews and another for Palestinians. The Arabs rejected that. So, instead, the one state was created: Israel. And, once Israel proclaimed its independence, the Arabs attacked and promptly lost enabling Israel to become even larger than it was.

Bottom Line: They did it to themselves.
They always do it to themselves.
That's what happens when you let emotions override rationale.
That's what happens when you adhere to a faith that emphasizes emotions and violence.

The current state of things in gazza goes back to 1948 when the jews and Arabs were given the right to self governance in the territories of the British occupied territory, Arabs couldn't accept this and decided to wipe out all jews. They failed and the price of attempted genocide and loss of that war was territory. No different than the price nazi Germany or imperial Japan paid. The Palestinians were given the opportunity to turn their land in gaza into a successful state but instead choose to buy weapons and build rockets and tunnels for terror attacks.
