My husband is in a really difficult situation atm. he's always been very money and career focused and im extremely proud of much he's achieved at only 33 year's old but he's starting to really hate his job.
It all started when he had a injury at work what wasn't his fault and he decided not to sue out of fear of ruining his career and ib return they treated him like shit and didn’t give him any support. During this time I was pregnant and he desperately needed to money for are baby girl so it was too risky to find another job and the ones he was offered were too far away.
Over time things have only gotten worse. he's amazing at his job but everyone else who not in his department is lacking massively yet when my husband speaks up he's made the issue and even customers have complained about these same departments and praised only my husbands and you can see that in multiple reviews yet he never gets praise for it.
His work are paying for him to got on further courses to help him in his job which is one pro and another is that its a extremely higher paying job for are area.
Lately he's been dreading going into work and is getting really emotional and my husband is really one of them men who can't handle his emotions and bottles it up so to see him get teary eyed and want hugs from me is saying a lot.
It hurts me seeing him this way and he keeps saying how much he wants to leave and how much he hates it but there's nothing close offering the same amount of money.
He wants to earn lots of money so we can give are daughter and future children the best life and eventually buy a bigger house and i can be a stay at home mum but if he quits this job it will probably prevent this from happening as quickly as we'd like.

If I were in his situation I'd stick it out, do the best job he can so no one can complain, even if he's not receiving the recognition for the good job he's doing. He should put himself out there and make companies that can offer him the position, pay and are the type of company nearby that he'd like to work for. Even if they're not currently looking to hire, that can change overnight and if they already have his resume on file it may open up an opportunity. The right opportunity will eventually open up he may have to be patient thou. Make sure he's has a well done profile on Linkedin and set that he's open to a job change. Head hunters regularly search Linkedin for new employees to fill open positions. I get about 10 to 15 offers per month although I'm not interested in switching employers at this time.
Sounds like it's time to look for a new position. Also after a certain point money doesn't buy additional happiness.
Do you want to be a stay at home mum? That's a pretty big decision for you, as you would be giving up future earning potential. I hope your marriage lasts, but there are no guarantees.
The thing that makes it difficult is if he wanted a job for same level of money if not more it would probably mean he'd have to travel further or we'd have to move.
I suggested going back part time as in the uk after mat leave you have to work at least 3 months to pay it back then im thinking about trying for a second child so I can still get my works mat pay over the government's as its a lot better and then Id decide to be a stay at home mum.
The only thing is i like having my own money and I hate the idea of having to ask my husband for something or justify a purchase
My husband is a very good, smart man is saving money for us to retire together too as am i right now whilst I still get full pay for the first 6 months of my maternity leave after that i get government maternity pay which is crap and that will around January, February time when that comes in
A lot of that sounds like the situation at MY old job. One thing you must remember is, you're expendable. Your supervisor is not your friend and only cares about his bank account and his position. And this lack of support from Supervision only makes regular employees suffer and pushes them to the breaking point. He'll probably end up snapping and getting fired like I did, so it's better he just quit on a good note and find another job
It is commendable that you want the best for your husband. However is it really feasible for him to take another job that does not pay as much and still be able to provide a good standard of living?
Granted that men are supposed to provide as much as possible, that might mean sacrificing happiness. At least if you want to be high value.
Its only a job. My father always said that the company would forget you ever existed if yiu died tomorrow. The more work you do for them the more they give yiu for no extra.
He should concentrate on taking his money home.
Life is short and happiness is a gift that should be cherished!
Men do what they have to do to stay employed.
No! Not even close!
Nope
No way!
