i dont mean always praise your gender, even if your gender has committed a crime.
its just that my mom speaks so low of my brothers crush for not blocking him. its like, she has forgotten what its like to be a young girl, plagued with self doubt. she only sees the whole thing as a parent. dating is forbidden in india, sort of. the girl in question has told my brother several times she is only interested in friendship, nothing more.
still, my mom is like, oh she just likes the attention.
massive hypocrite bc in the 90s she had a boyfriend herself, the time when indian women werent allowed to do jobs. she didn't marry the guy.
my brother is chasing her and somehow thats her fault, according to mom. whatever this girl does, it upsets mom.
mom is also against widows finding a boyfriend, single mothers wanting marriage, etc. what it tells me she is one of those incels online that claim they respect women and get upset whenever women do ANYTHING on their own free will.

I judge people by what they want and how effective they are in achieving it, mostly. Most of the rest is noise. Sometimes you have to form a view that is narrow-minded to achieve it. I only care if you achieve it unless your goal atrocious.
On the general question, not really. Maybe more if they speak negatively. That usually points to more of a problem than speaking positively or neutrally. We have this complicated culture around us and it's not as simple as boys should be able to do what girls do and girls should be able to do what boys do. It's all complicated. But you can be Amelia Earhart and say, "Fuck that shit! I'm flying airplanes!" And that's badass. Total respect. I just wanna know what you wanna do first. I am not a fan of, "I don't know what I want to do. I don't know if I want the guy. I don't know if I want the job. Figure out what you want."
100% agree
On widows and divorcees though, what are they supposed to do? Become dead? Of course you want to get a man. If my wife died (God forbid), I would be train-wrecked but after a while, I want woman as widower, no? Why shouldn't I want this?
Or I realize "want" isn't a good ethical grounding. But what is the problem caused if a man marries a widow, or a woman marries a widower? We have 0.72 TFR now in South Korea. And children need to be raised. So how is it making things worse?
Consider this: sex is the hardware and gender is the software.
You seem to use “gender” where ‘sex’ is more appropriate for a given context, and probably vice versa. There is a difference and you should understand it if you’re going to ask these kinds of questions.
