What are some untrue stereotypes the opposite side has of your party?

We're getting very polarized, and even increasingly hateful of the other side. We live in completely different realities, thinking the other side is satan incarnate. If it gets worse, people being killed for their politics more widespreadly or even a civil war isn't unthinkable.

I'm a gen z liberal/leftist lite woman, and I think some of the most outrageous stereotypes conservatives have of us are:

- That we're campaining for late term or post birth 'abortions'. That is insane hate mongering fake news. Virtually everyone on the left are for first trimester only, with some very narrow exceptions generally happening in the second trimester, like the mom's life being threatened or first degree incest rape of a minor. A democrat would view a 8 month pregnant person killing off their baby just cause as a monster. Post birth 'abortion' does not exist and it is pure murder. If anyone is unironically saying this, they are an edgelord teenager or some demented bat shit crazy person.

- That we love 'shariah' law and love Isis type muslims, and want to welcome them in with open arms. This is often said when talking about Mamdani and other people of middle eastern origin on the left, which is batshit insane. They have the same views as your average 'blue haired' liberal. People like Matt Walsh or Charlie Kirk (rip) are way way closer to Ben Laden in views than Mamdani. Personally i'm against mass migration from certain parts of the world, always have been, but the leftists that support them think the stereotypes are just wrong and that it's racism. They're not doing it to replace white people or turn the West into Iran.

- That we want to turn the US into a matriarchy. I personally think there are a lot of brainrotted feminists since the mid 2010s, that think men are the devil, and exaggerate the situation in the US, but still, even their goal isn't to oppress men and do a reverse patriarchy, or to turn all the men gay and trans. This is just so stupid.

We're all racists and Nazis is the most common one. The craziest one I've heard is that we're actively trying to commit genocide against black Americans.

Also, that we're all prudes. A girl on THIS website told me I'm a "fake conservative", because I said I'm politically conservative but sexually liberal. Apparantly Conservatives don't get horny.

Well they aren't untrue and thats the problem. A lot of lefts love terroists for some reason, and love islam despite it being a very conservative religion which ya'd think they'd recognise is an opposition to themselves yet they don't see it. Happily wave their pride flags around for countries that would kill them and highly oppose their own progressive views. To say this be untrue is a lie, there is mass amounts of videos of rally's that prove this. And I've seen it myself in my own city smh.

So yeah there is no untrue stereotypes which is why I who supports Marx and who'd be consider very left to any right winged dude, is seen as a conservative to many such lefts these days.

As others have mentioned, we conservatives are assumed to be racist.

Years ago at work, a known liberal coworker who knew I was a conservative, noticed a DVD I had brought from home to test a DVD drive. It was a movie by Keenan Ivory Wayans. He asked "Why would YOU buy a movie like that?". I explained that I really liked it and it was very funny. He probably didn't believe me.

Another Democrat coworker, who lived in the big city, was complaining about black people. I told him I got along fine with our black coworkers. He knew I lived in a small town. He said "You'd feel different if you lived around 'em!".

In my opinion, it's the liberals who are the racists.

There are 575 Federal elected officials that took an oath to speak for us the people and listen to the people but the moment they got into office they got bought out they only have one agenda that's to do what the elite or whoever bought them out wants them to do wants them to vote for because they have an agenda they are supposed to have our meaning the people best interest with their job but they don't

As far as I'm concerned they have all turned into followers I'm sure there's a few of them that are still leaders and do not bend the way that who has ever running the country which is not the politicians that's for sure because it's just one big gang. They are no better then a regular gang out on the streets

That the things we progressive leftists want are extreme or dangerous. They are not we just want our government to step up and actually provide for all of us and not just the ultra wealthy. It’s fairly common and standard in Europe for example and the majority of people want what we want too if you remove the words “socialist” “democrat” or “left wing” out.

I'm a center left independent who doesn't belong to a party, but get untrue stereotypes from both US major parties. Both Republicans and Democrats have untrue stereotypes of each other and unfortunately us Independents get accused of all those stereotypes since we get accused by both parties of supporting the other party when we support neither.
