My first instinct is to say that impeaching and removing Trump would be a very good idea so we don't have to put up with him for another 2 years, but would this put Vance in too good a position for 2028? I don't want to ever see another Republican president in this country. I've had enough of these people. How about you?

Well as someone outside of the U. S. that was watching, I couldn't be more delighted at the Democratic landslide. A lot of non-Americans are. I'll just say whatever you guys decide upon, as long as you run Maga and Trump out of town by 2028 and elect a Democratic President, we'll be doing cartwheels. We'll get the U. S. back as allies and the leader of the western world once again.
We are definitely going to run this guy out of town if he doesn't die or end up in the hospital first. You will get us back as Allies after, and we will be respectful of you. You do not want us as "leaders" of the Western world under any circumstances. We can't be trusted for that role.
They could impeach him. I'd say it's pretty likely. They'd succeed at forcing the trial in the senate I imagine. Conviction in the senate and removal though requires 66 guilty votes out of 100. Dems currently hold 54 which could go to 56 (Alaska and Mississippi.) They likely will do it still and it appears that they will surely go after Hegseth and perhaps others in the administration that can be impeached.
Critically they need to produce results for the people where possible. People will want to see accountability for sure, but Dems need to be at least very visibly seen to be trying to do things like getting rid of the tariffs, getting the war stopped, fixing the healthcare premium disaster that tRump made with his big beautiful bill.
If we want to avoid another disaster in four years or eight there will need to be some visible results I think. The electorate is pretty damn fickle.
If they can get the votes in the Senate. They would need 67 votes and will have 54 or 55, possibly 56. if they can get enough Republicans to quietly agree to put the country ahead of politics, then they should.
Depends on what we actually impeach him for. Because there's a bunch of stuff he's done that is so wildly self-serving and unethical that it's hard to believe he wouldn't be successfully impeached for it. But, I doubt that will be the stuff the Dems actually try to get him on.
It depends on what he gets done for, I suppose.
Simples...
Are you going to admit you're wrong about Trump not accepting the results of the election? Or do you need another year or so admit that?
Let's wait and see what he does instead of basing anything on what he says.
One year?
I think it will be interesting to see what he does when the time comes for him to leave the White House.
He's never going to leave. Don't you watch MS now?
What does MS have to do with this? I don't watch it.
They predicted Trump would never leave office his first term and now his second term and they also predict that Trump will bring back slavery.
"They" can say whatever "they" want. We still have free speech and freedom of the press.
I wouldn't be surprised if he just took his diaper bag and nurse and went back to Mar-a-Lago.
@slatyb well, maybe he'll be a lot quieter than he used to be. Would be a welcome relief
LOL. Obama did way worse in 2010. He wasn't removed.
What way worse things did he do, supposedly?
Impeach him!!
