6 moDecisions regarding the removal of a U. S. President from office and any potential legal penalties like imprisonment are determined by specific constitutional provisions and legal processes, not personal opinion.
Removal From Office
The U. S. Constitution provides a specific process, known as impeachment, for removing a president from office.
House of Representatives Role: The House can bring formal charges, known as "articles of impeachment," against the president with a simple majority vote. This is similar to a grand jury indictment.
Senate Role: If the House impeaches, the Senate then holds a trial, presided over by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. A two-thirds majority vote of the senators present is required to convict and remove the president from office.
Grounds: The Constitution limits the grounds for impeachment to "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors".
Effect: Impeachment and removal from office is a political process (not a criminal trial) and the penalty is limited to removal and, potentially, disqualification from holding future public office.
Criminal Prosecution and Incarceration
The Constitution specifies that after being removed from office through the impeachment process, a former official "shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law" in regular civil or criminal courts.
Key points regarding prosecution:
Sitting President: The Department of Justice (DOJ) has a long-standing policy that a sitting president cannot be indicted or criminally prosecuted while in office, primarily because it would unconstitutionally interfere with the president's ability to perform their duties.
Former President: The Supreme Court has ruled that a former president has absolute immunity for "core constitutional powers" and presumptive immunity for official acts, but no immunity for unofficial acts committed while in office.
Current Status: As of January 2025, Donald Trump was sentenced to an unconditional discharge (no jail time or fines) in his New York criminal case, the only case where a conviction was reached. The federal cases related to election interference and classified documents were dismissed after he won the 2024 presidential election, due to the DOJ's policy and ongoing legal questions surrounding presidential immunity. Other cases in Georgia were also dismissed.10 Reply

6 moThe window to get Trump into jail was 2021 to 2024. In order to do that, a special counsel should have been appointed on Jan. 20th, 2021 and confirmed by Congress on a fast track. The cases should have been filed and emergency hearings asked for due to the nature of the alleged crimes, which were quite serious.
Also, the SCOTUS should have been expanded to balance out Scumpie's pathetic selections, particularly Kavanaugh, and Thomas & Alito should have been forced out for ethical violations. They still should be, but it won't happen under Scump.
Anyway, Biden thought it would look too much "revenge" to act so quickly, but really, it would have been protecting the country and prosecuting some serious crimes. Garland was far too weak and as that dragged on, it was apparent Scump's judges were stonewalling the trial and postponing dates. Judge Cannon should have been removed for her actions.
Now, the best you can hope for is he dies, or gets even more demented and removed. But that means you get Vance, who's even worse, but he's still taking orders from the same P-2025 head honchos that Scump takes orders from, so probably no difference.

Anonymous(18-24)6 moTrump is totally out of control and thinks he can do what he wants without any regards to the Constitution or Congress. He will be impeached again when Dems take control of Congress because the American people are sick of him. I do not know why the idiots forgot how Trump was in his first term and now he is 10x worse.

Yes. He’s literally a serial rapist that gets away with it because of his money and power. And now he wants to defund suicide hotlines in the US… he need to go. I feel terrible for US citizens, if i’m being really honest. Noone could pay me enough to go there.

Biden sucked but should we of arrested hi? How about Bush for his fun war? No better yet let's arrest Lincoln since in the civil war ya know half the south didn't much like him and thought he was a criminal.
Democracy don't last very long like that ya know?03 Reply- 6 mo
Hey doofus: trump literally bombed Venezuela and arrested Maduro "for his crimes" despite the fact that he's a choir boy when compared with the fat fuck in the WH. trump IS a criminal, not a regular president. If it's OK with trumptards to go against international laws and conventions andkidnap Maduro to prosecute him, I think it's more than OK to do something similar to that orange piece of dog shit.

6 moSo dems can get back to unchecked fraud and stealing money and erasing our border and sovereignty and letting millions of 3rd world foreigners just flood in again so we basically will not even have a country in 50 years?
Fuck that.
I support the guy fighting for the country and fighting to KEEP our republic. Not the fucking traitors who want to destroy it.

Yup. For doing the same thing to Venezuela that Obama did to Ukraine in 2014. Just like in order to spell СВОбода you have to write СВО first, you also have to write CON when spelling CONservative.
No - I am very happy with the job he is doing!

6 moNot jail. A few weeks ago, I would've supported the idea of kicking him out, but with the whole Maduro thing, getting rid of him now would be a geopolitical disaster
