Has Feminism destroy the male gender?

Question

Not only we see men being less aggressive or being less fearful of approaching women.

But it seems to me that males are no longer needed anymore? Women are fine leaving by themselves these days.

The family nucleus is no longer important and divorces are on the high. Before women used to work hard to make a marriage last, now they can't take take anything or else they will divorce their husband.

We see women doing the same job of a lot of men...

I can't imagine how it would be in the next 30 years.

Society has gone through a lot of changes and certainly doesn't look the way it used to---but I think it's naive to think that feminism is the cause of all these changes. While feminism may have contributed to them, there are likely multiple causes.

But let me address your points:

I'm pretty sure there have always been guys who are not very aggressive and who are fearful of approaching women. There have probably always been guys who are shy, introverted, insecure, and/or submissive (they just probably weren't the guys most likely to make it into history books). And, it might be true that these things have increased in our society and perhaps feminism has contributed to that (i.e. guys might feel intimidated by women who are more independent and outspoken), but consider that there might be other factors too: media and advertising can have a negative effect on people's self-esteem/cause them to feel insecure; people socialize less than they used to as a result of television, the Internet, video games, etc. (meaning that a lot of people don't develop good social skills = higher insecurity when it comes to meeting people).

Well, you can say that men are no longer needed by women in the sense that women are more independent and thus, don't need a man to provide for them. Personally, I see that as a good thing. However, not requiring a man to survive does not mean that women don't want men in their lives. I mean, I have a well-paying job and am capable of taking care of myself, but I've been with my (male) partner for 5 years. I may not "need" him, but I want him in my life because he's an amazing person. He gives me: love, emotional support, friendship, intellectual stimulation, someone to do things with, romantic and sexual intimacy, someone to share in financial and household responsibilities with, etc. (And I give him all of these things in return). I value having someone to spend my life with.

Has feminism contributed to divorce rates? Sure. The women's rights movement has given women the right to initiate divorce. Since both sexes can now initiate divorce, that's bound to lead to an increase in divorce. But should women have the right to initiate a divorce? Of course. If a woman is in an unhealthy marriage, whether it's due to abuse, cheating, or if she is unhappy and unable to fix the problems, she should be able to divorce her husband; just as he should be able to divorce her. But there are both men and women who are guilty of not "working hard" to make their marriage last. And is feminism purely to blame for the increase in divorce?

If women are happy and content without men, then why can't you be happy and content without us? You are a human being, individual, e friends with those that you enjoy spending time with. Make love to a women you love. If you stop loving her move on, and we will do the same. Our children will grow into adults that are individual, and can live their lives on their own, and make friends with people they like and make love to people they love and if they stop loving then they move on. What is exactly is the awful calamity of existing like this?

Why do you feel you need a women that must put up with any and all of your sh*t, why should you be forced to put up with any and all of her sh*t, why teach your children that they must put up with someone else's sh*t for the rest of their live, just because society tells them to.

You don't need a wifey at home, we don't need a hubby, we just need friends and a lover, or more lovers as long as your honest about it. And can still have children and brothers and sister that love you and are there for you when you need them even if they are of different mothers or fathers or your father and mother do not live together.

Humanity is changing, we are all now becoming free, content and self sufficient entities that live and let live, love and let go, allowing those we love to live how they wish, and being happy for them their choice and them happy for us our choice.

When people use the word "feminism" these days they really need to accompany it with a definition, because it seems like the concept has morphed, shifted and grown into these various sub cultures that differ from one another greatly.

That aside, nothing has destroyed the male gender. You guys are still around, you've just changed and adapted. Same as women. Changing roles and the like are a personal choice - no one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to do anything. If you want to be a hard assed, tyrannical bastard, marry a push over.

How so? Are women becoming asexual/lesbian? Do you think girls prefer vibrators over men? I don't see how this makes any sense at all.

Are you saying that men have absolutely no part in divorces? Men don't work any harder than women do in order to fix a broken marriage, and that's how it should be.Women no longer have to be tolerating and submissive while the man does whatever he wants.

Is there a problem here? As long as they are qualified for the position, they deserve a chance. There are women out there who went through nearly a decade of schooling and have over a decade of work experience, yet you should be more entitled to that position because you're male? That's your logic, and it's clearly sexist.

Women will wipe men off the face of the Earth. ;)

Feminism has many faces, some feminists are radical, some arn`t. It has surely changed our life more or less. It brings for a part of men insecurity, for some it is a challenge, some men are growing to adults, some for better men, some get homosexual by disappointment.

For children it is an advantage, if women don`t speak (very) bad about men.

A part of men loose their potency by women, others test out new ways of sexuality.

Feminism is necessary, if it doesn`t be an general accuser against all of us men. this would be a dogged kind. A small part of feminism tend to this. But the majority I think is in the right way, for to be in a good parnership in an equal kind.

All this is only an subjective impression, I don`t have enough distance to be objective enough in this things. So I can be right or wrong, in some aspects, both is possible. But in generally I think it is so, I see the different aspects.

Last but not least, nobody can turn back the wheel, so let`s see, what will happen in the next time/s.

No! It hasn't. It's may have made us equal, but if a man wants to be chivalrous all he has to do is, do it.

This is not because women no longer think it is okay when their husbands cheat on them, or hit them. People stayed together because of RELIGIOUS beliefs, and people are not as religious as they use to be.

feminism didn't force guys to act like bitches. male bitches were around before feminism existed. as far as working to make a marriage last, every marriage is unique so you can't judge with a blanket statement like that. women used to be abused by their hubby and couldn't leave him, now things are more balanced because both partners will want to make the other happy and be considerate instead of the man thinking he can do whatever he want because that bitch won't leave anyway.

if you need for women to be subjugated to feel like a real man then you're not a real man. would you rather a woman be with you because she needs you for financial/social reasons, or would you rather a woman be with you because she loves you and honestly wants to? if you aren't desirable to women then it could be a problem that women don't HAVE to be married and stay married to survive but for every other man its not an issue

I don't know that I'd say 'feminism'. Some elements of feminist thought have not helped.

I think fatherhood has been devalued. Fathers are treated as ATMs, and in turn, think of themselves that way.

People raise boys to be good boys, but its somewhat unrealistic to expect mothers/teachers to teach boys how to be good _men_.

I honestly don't care. Less men for me to compete with. And the only difference between families then and now is there's less stigma attached to divorce, and women are independent enough to support thmeselves and get away from abusive husbands.

Take a time machine and go back to the 40s and tell me if the family nucleus was really important back then.

I hate to sound like I'm actually defending women but let's be honest here...

MEN ARE GETTING VERY COMFORTABLE AND COMPLACENT THESE DAYS.

If a guy talk about being the head and/or leading the household (traditional, but the wife still has a job), women tend to agree and MEN knock it down.

The male gender is doing just fine. If anything, we're just weeding out a higher percentage of trash.

Guys who don't approach women, don't date as much. If they're too scared to approach women, well we don't need their contributions to the gene pool, do we? Good riddance.

Of course males are still needed. Just look around at sites like this, or mags like Cosmo. Where do you think the market is, with all those women trying to land a man?

The family nucleus is no longer the be-all and end-all, but I have no problem with that. Same for the high rate of divorce. I've never believed marriage made a lick of sense anyway.

None of the things you mentioned even weaken the male gender, let alone destroy it.

Feminism seems to have confused and misguided the female gender more than anything. In the 70's and 80's it was a sensitive topic to be a confident male, but we've since recovered from that I feel and now it's back to feminism looking for a direction to steer it's movement in.
