My biggest turn off is bad grammar/spelling. is this just me?

i personally can't stand it when a guy I'm texting can't spare the time to make the text look good. i.e. he says, "heyy how are you doin? whts up?"

it's just... exactly the wrong thing to say. it looks SO much better when he says, "hey how are you doing? what's up?" I remember reading somewhere that every woman secretly wants to be seduced by an intelligent man, and if he's texting as in the above example... it's really unsexy.

so do you guys agree? bad grammar=turn-off? or is this just me and my grammar Nazi nature?

lolz correction for the bad text: it would be something more along the lines of "heyy how R You doin?" I think it got autocorrected

Communication is about a transfer of information, as long as the other person gets the message and understands it, it shouldn't matter the method in which its transferred.

I could also point out that you should have capitalized "I" at the beginning of this question.

I'm just pointing out how ridiculous it looks. And no, something like forgetting to put the toilet seat wouldn't bother me. That's just human forgetfulness. Misspelling things (consistently) rings of a lack of intelligence.

And capitalization isn't the same as abbreviating everything (LEET speak) which is what I was primarily referring to.

Grammar and misspelling things could also be considered human forgetfulness, especially when you account for typos (not caring to re-read over what you typed) And in the world of spell check, (forgetting to use spell check)

I should show this message to my daughter. She's 11 and is the worst speller I have ever met.

I have tried to help her but she just doesn't seem to care. What's even worse is that spelling doesn't seem to matter in school anymore. I find it so annoying when I find spelling errors in books and magazines, and - the dictionary. There was once a typo there too of all places.

I realize that a typo is a little different from a spelling error, though. I suppose we have to live in a world where people in general don't care about spelling any longer or at least let the spell checker do there work four them. ;-)

haha. xD. I agree. although there are some exceptions. like abreviations for big words w/e for whatever xD. haha. the whole texting speak thing really gets annoying after a while.
