What does "see you when the fog lifts" mean?

I received a message saying : "See you when the fog lifts" what does this mean

Hmm I guess there is some mistunderstanding or problems or something .. and this person wishes to see/talk to you when everything gets clear.. :)

Or maybe there is actual fog outside.. and the person would like to meet you after it gets sunny ?

It means he will ambush you when you are alone O_O Actually I've never heard that one, don't think it's a common saying...
