Why women rarely give compliment to men?

We give compliment to women most of time but we rarely receive from women? Don't give me a crap about getting wrong ideas

Women, by nature, seek the approval of others more than men. Women derive a lot of their self-worth from not just men, but other women, friends, family, etc. Not all are this way, nor are women incapable of giving complements.

Part of the reason why it feels that men give more complements is because there are so many insecure girls out there that they just refuse to accept a man's praise because they don't think it is genuine.

The best thing you can do is continue to give complements, but use them sparingly. If a woman senses you are lavishing praise on her that she doesn't think she's earned (especially if she's insecure), she'll shrug it off and be less likely to complement you back. Less is more in this case.

I'll give my POV as a gay guy who at one point also had relationships with girls (I'm not bi)..
My girlfriends never complimented me. Not once.. and it wasn't because I was a bad boyfriend. When i started dating guys I was shocked by the amount of compliments I was getting for pretty much anything - looks, manners, even about my hobbies - which i'm sure my gfs didn't even notice. As someone else said, it was as if most girls think it's a gender role thing that only men must compliment.

Now when I gather with few friends for a drink and they talk about their girlfriends, I sense that same thing in them - they are like little slaves doing everything their girl tells them to, not expecting anything in return. I know not everyone is like that and usually later in live things get better but it's just strange to me that in this regard homosexual relationship of any kind are much much healthier and honest.

I guess it's because they're not comfortable doing it. They prefer to gossip with their friends about a guy, but not tell him to his face. I think they feel like it might give a guy the upper hand to know she likes anything about him, and they prefer to have the upper hand, if you're talking about a dating context.

I give guys compliments...I am not stingy with that. I will tell my guy friend that his hair cute looks cute or that he looks cut in his picture. That is how I am. Lately, I have been getting shy again (losing confidence, a little I guess) and not giving compliments to guys that I have crushes on because I am afraid of what others think (I know, it's daaaaamn stupid) because they may think I am trying to hard or they may like him, too and hate me. I'm working on this stupidity (at least I am being honest). I just don't want to lay it on think like I am chasing after him.

Sorry for all of the grammatical errors. I meant to say that "if I think a guy's hair cut is cute" and I will tell him if he is "cute" in his picture, not cut. Also at the last sentence, I meant to say "lay it on thick" not think.

They expect receiving compliments too much that they forget about giving. There are a lot of girls who think it's the guy's duty to compliment their beauty all the time. They think it's a gender role. I think it is very stupid. Compliments should be exchanged. It's not a duty.

I get a girl and a woman has to protect herself from creeps, and I know basically every culture on the planet has men handing out free compliments to even ugly women and old ladies, but the ladies should realize they can ease up on the stone faced cruelty they dish out. Yes a woman telling an 85 year old man he's nice looking can open herself up to being the victim of a dirty old creep, but women can still tell a guy he's got nice shoes, nice haircut, nice shirt and still be a non-sexual compliment. The ladies think it's OK to refuse to compliment an average looking guy and only compliment the hot guys at work... then turn around and talk about sexism in the workplace. Please!!

You know, that's a really good question...but from me personally, I give compliments to whoever I think looks nice regardless of whether that person is a guy or not. To tell you the truth, I'm the kind of girl who would straight up tell a guy, "wow you have gorgeous eyes."

I compliment plenty of guys, but it doesn't necessarily mean I like him that way. Just like I don't automatically assume any guy complimenting me is into me, because some people are just friendly. I'm friendly and talk to all kinds of people whether I'm attracted to them or not, including compliments.

Well, as a girl I hate getting beauty type compliments. I never really know how to reply, its not something I've really worked at or chosen, and I've never really considered myself 'beautiful' I mean I'm not ugly, but. That aside, I tend to make observations about people, but have a tendency to not necessarily 'compliment' them. I'm also just generally not all that great at giving compliments, its not because I don't like you, or what you are doing, I'm just shy and it is stupid but it's hard to come up with something on the spur of the moment that doesn't sound silly and or come off the wrong way.

I have noticed this for years and years!! Women/girls are extremely stingy with compliments to guys but expect lavish praise in return. For years I have worked mostly with women and a few guys. I feel like I am an OK looking dude, not ugly but not handsome. But the way my female coworkers are stingy with compliments and generous with snide remarks and insults is appalling. They never notice if I get a haircut, wear new shoes, lose weight, tone up, or anything like that. If some odd girl happens to notice, everyone else becomes stone faced and insist they didn't notice anything different about me. But these same women get annoyed if I don't notice their new hairstyle or how they lost weight, I even had one girl make a big deal about it to me that I didn't say anything. They only compliment the guys at work that clearly catch their eye and they think are hot. They compliment those dudes, but leave my ass out in the cold with not just no compliments, but sometimes downright cruelty.

It's hard tho because some people assume you are flirting with them if you compliement them, so I don't do it all the time.

Because men are butt holes accepting compliments, whenever I have given guys compliments most of the time then look at me like I'm a total freak or act like a jerk, so if pretty much given up on that. I don't know about many other girls, but that's true to me and a couple other girls at least!
